Which tab should I buy??
With good reviews???
I own the Xperia tablet Z2 and I can say the battery life is on this is really excellent, especially with stamina mode activated (which is perfect for a tablet, because you don't want things synching when you don't have the screen on). I get a lot more time out of it than with the Nexus 7 2013 I had before. So don't jump into conclusions just because of the battery capacity, it matters more how the tablet utilises the energy.

I wonder why nVidia Tegra Tab was not included? It is quite the bang for the buck.
Thanks for the article, I consider it very comprehensive. However, the article never considered either the Dell Venue 7 or Dell Venue 8 devices. I own both the Venue 8 and the LG G Tab 8.3. Both are excellent devices and surprisingly, the Dell is right up with the LG on speed, multitasking ability and memory. The LG has a better screen resolution, slightly better battery life and a better quality camera.
I have the Verizon LG so its got tons of bloat on it, both from LG and from Verizon. The Dell is almost pure Android 4.3 with the addition of only 2 extra apps. This possibly could explain why the Dell equal in speed and snappiness to the LG. The Dell sports an Intel processor and 2 gigs of ram while the LG sports a quad core snapdragon with 2 gigs of ram. Both have SD card support. I run both devices unrooted and with SSLauncher as my home screen replacement.
If Dell were to consider using a faster Intel processor (if available), a higher resolution screen and better energy management to prolong the battery, they would have a stellar device. The LG in and of itself is a very capable device that has delivered as promised. Either device would be an excellent choice but the Dell represents a better value to me, currently priced at $230 for the 32gig model.
I'm really really really happy with my Asus T100 with 500GB in the dock! Sold my Surface Pro 2 256Gb for good money and bought the t100 and amazed with the battery and performance! Have a tab1 en tab2 from samsung and it's collecting dust for several months now!
Bluestack for adroid apps and windows for photoshop, internet and full windows games!
No heat en no noise with great perfomance!
Worth the whole 350€
Android 10 inch form factor is a big no no, as the buttons for navigation is found at bottom middle, and you cannot move it. Very hard for navigation unless you have 3 hands, or using it on a table.. which loses its benefit as a mobile device. But you can attach keyboard /mouse making it a limiting laptop at best.
Best is a android 8 inch/7 incher, but at that size the battery is not acceptable.. and most of them are lacking cases/ accessories. And most of them are in the 16:9 form factor.. making browsing the web in landscape mode.. very limiting (URL bar + statusbar takes up more then 1/4 of the landscape screen estate). However some have voice call features to make up for a all in one device.
iPad air/ iPad mini are still the best when it comes to webbrowsing/touch based games/video watching/navigation gestures/battery endurance. However if you use it thinking that it is a PC/android tablet, you will find it sorely limiting. Once you get one, you have to think in the way of apple, and must own more iDevices to make it better. Like apple tv / airplay is a must. And in my experience, it serves better if you have good network.. forget about storing large amount of data on the device storage, bt transfer and all those things. Use streaming / airplay / streamtome app/ custom youtube background playing app, with a 24/7 mac/pc running as a server. Storage is mainly for games only.

Still I prefer having these Win tabs over those iPad sor Android tabs, they are the most powerful machine that you can hold them for a long time. I admit that I don't care about gaming as I only do that at home with my desktop computer.
I highly recommend the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8inch tablet, or big phablet (imo). I am not a big Samsung fan btw. I bought this tablet not because of the overall look/ bland ordinary galaxy series-type design but for its incredible slim form factor and its call functionality. I use it as a second phone, connected to my Sony SBH-52 bluetooth headset (this bluetooth headset can connect to 2 android phones, my Z1 included).
iPad Air is the best choice. It's lightweight, premium looking, has superb battery life, smooth UI, lag-free experience and has a beautiful screen.

If you factor in fully fledged windows 8/8.1 tablets, ipads or androids can't even compare or come close. Windows is windows.
I think the choice is really simple. The best it's to choose iPad or Xperia Z2.
Ok, thanks again for the guide GSMArena. And thanks for mentioning full Win8 tablet at the end.
So it's clear now that your tablet guide is strictly for ARM-based tablet. And it also clear that GSMArena expertise are on ARM-based device, not x86/Windows device.
So guys, those who looking for Windows x86 tablet shopping guide, go elsewhere. You'll only find ARM tablets here.

Xerxes13, 15 Mar 2014Xperia Z2 Tablet is most compact (Height*Width*Thickness) and lightest one. GSMArena, Why you ... moreIt's not compact at all, it's very high. Anything more than 25cm in height gets unruly and tiresome after some time. The fact that it is thin is literally meaningless, anything less than 1cm has very little (if at all) impact to user experience. So -yeah- thick bezels make devices very tiresome, Sony never seems to learn.
