Nokia N73 review: Pole position
Being the best equipped handset ever Nokia N73 has managed to overrun the king of all mobiles - the slider Nokia N80. It features Symbian OS, 3 megapixels backed up by the label of Carl Zeiss, USB Mass Storage, and works with office documents. Nokia N73 has a brilliant phonebook and a good time organizer as well as an exceptional Internet browser. The interest in this new Nokia phone is overwhelming worldwide.

but we USERS are the one who will use the phone in daily use. we are not talking about theories about the world and religion, it a matter of tests and facts. you are comparing invented theories with something that was tested in a scientific way.
that comment that you said about people are stupid sounds really antisocial from i what see you are just a poor dude that believe he is better than anybody else.

I"ve tried both the N73 an K800i,o.k the flash might be a bit better on the K800i but the phones buttons are crap an the slider cover on the K800i is a big let down, you can"t put the phone in your pocket without knowing if youv"e turned the camera on as the slider is loose an easy to open it also stops the phone laying flat on a surface,I returned the K800i because of this an got the N73,its camera is brilliant an flash o.k an the sliders 100% better than the K800i,people go on about the button sizes but i think there so soft as easy to use ,the N73 is the best phone out lately an really glad i bought this mobile, the sounds great an screens alot better than the K800i, N73 is the best mobile Nokias made for ages an the N84 or N85 will be out soon,Cheers

for the people saying "Carl Zeiss is a scam" HELLO WHAT ABOUT ""CYBERSHOT"? like use your brain before you bash nokia. i have a nokia 6820, and a sony ericsson s710a. im planning on getting this phone because SE has just as much bugs as nokia. both cameras are similar yet different, AND NOKIA IS A SMARTPHONE (which gives it the excuse to have bugs..why does the k800 have bugs now huh?) i prefer my 6820 over my s710 because it has a nicer built quaility. nokia n73 is one of the best phones now! no wifi? 1stly, you might not find a connection, sometimes you have to pay like in an airport, and 3rdly, i doubt you need it that much. IF U NEED WIFI, get the nokia internet tablet. GO NOKIA!

Forget all the super-whizzy functions and stuff on modern phones - what about the buttons on this phone and many others being way too small for the average person's thumb? Give me a phone that does the basics well any day of the week.

Sheesh, "this is crap... that is crap. "
Neither the N73, nor the K800 are crap. As far as the picture quality, it's all subjective. If the majority of people like the N73 pics, it's their right isn't it? It doesn't make the N73's quality neccesarily better, it just makes it more preferred by the majority of the people. I personally like the N73 pics better as well, but since some experts say the K800i is better I should go for that? Nonsense. If I like the N73 pictures more I go for the N73, if I like the K800 pictures more I go for the K800.
I chose the N73 because of the camera, because of the smartphone (being able to install your own programs), because of the looks, because of the entire package. I wanted a phone which can do a lot and can do it well. The K800 might be better in the multimedia department, the Sharp 903 might be better in the camera department, but this N73 seemed to be the best one for me in the departments I am interested in.
Mobile phones will never have the best camera or the best multimedia possibilities. I don't expect that, I just want a phone which can do it all pretty good.
Ah well, nothing new here... I just get too damn annoyed by the black and white opinions of Nokia lovers and haters and Sony Ericsson lovers and haters.
By the way, this is going to be my first Nokia ever, after owning a number of (Sony) Ericssons. Hope it's gonna be nice!

Carl Zeiss - what a SCAM...
==============================
Ok, the N73 is a decent handset, but the camera is a total SCAM. The label "Carl Zeiss" is a Marketing tool, not a real asset. Any NOKIA N-Series phone, with exception of N90 and N93 have no real "lenses" in the first place.
It's a small hole with lots of plastic around it, hardly anything I could call a lense.
In comparison, SHARP uses FIVE (5) lenses in the 902 & 903SH. Real lenses that move (optical zoom), the same technology used in most SONY and PANASONIC slim-line cameras. Don't tell me that this 3mm hole in the N73's case is supposed to beat the rest.
Great phone, but don't be fooled by the camera.

Q: Does the agenda function of the N73 synchronize with Lotus Notes ? If so is the cable to do so delivered with the Phone ?
Who can elaborate on this ??

At first glance I thought I was looking at a silver SE w800i.
Then when I saw how crap the picture quality was to SE's k800i cybershot phone I came to my senses.
Sorry, Nokia seems to be struggling to make an impression in the camera department, with their gimmick "Carl Zeiss" lens (which btw is rented from Sony).
Now, Nokia seems to be struggling with new mobile phone designs, as you can see the N73 clearly rips of SE's w800i walkman phone, except it's silver.

Dude with the poll result,
Seriously, you speak as though you are incapable of intellectual thought. You point is that beacause the majority said so, its true?? Do you know how stupid that is?
If that were the case, the earth would still be flat, the sun would rotate around the earth, and Zesus would still be God.
The point is that OF COURSE, stupid ppl(who often are in the marjority) with absolutely no basis knowledge of photography will be fooled by colour saturation. Doesn't mean that it is better either. Just because more ppl says so doesnt mean its true. This so called "professionals" are able to be more discerning, which is why they are reviewing and not you.

mobile review dil a poll, when they printed pictures of the n73 k800 d900.
brand name had nothing to do with them because they were not told what phone took the picture
Voted Best Quality
Nokia n73 50%, Nokia n93 30%, Sony Ericsson K800 20%, Samsung D900 0%
Good Quality
Nokia n73 30%, Nokia N93 30%, SE k800 30%, Samsung d900 10%
Average Quality
Nokia n73 10%, nokia n93 20%, Sony ericsson k800 30%, d900, 40%
whatever the "professionals" said its simply not true. as you can see people prefered nokia pictures over sony ericsson by a margin of 80%, that a TRULY beat. SE lost hard.
remenber this survey was done by you users. so the "professional" can go and eat their socks with "natural colors" Bull****
this parapraph its translated used altavista so its not so good.
Result is exponential and demonstrates, that the users prefer bright picture, than its dimmer analog, but with the natural transfer it is color. In this case so strange a position Samsung in the comparison is caused by the not so much real quality of the photographs (it compared between all cameras), as do not always grow prettier by the study of the details of background, by the large approximation of picture in a number of cases (they commented on precisely in such a way that on the photograph is placed less than details). I think, the obtained result is very eloquent and contradicts the conventional opinion, which was established among the medium professional journalists (larger part, in any case), about the superiority of camera Sony Ericsson K800i. User votes for the colorful picture.
However, a similar comparison we conducted for the photographs on PK, here picture was observed approximately the same. For simplification in the task we conducted also the paired comparisons, when were proposed to estimate not all 4 photographs, but only two. In pair Nokia N73 and Nokia N93 the victory remained for Nokia N73 in 85 percent of the cases. The outstanding index, which is not so obvious for many. In pair Sony Ericsson K800i and Nokia N73 the selection of photographs from Sony Ericsson was in 40 percent of the cases. This index clearly higher than fact that we obtained with the comparison of imprints. But also here product from Sony Ericsson could not dostich' explicit preponderance.

Just got the Nokia n73 yesterday!!! It has to be the best camera phone available on the market. I hate the SE user interface. The symbian is sooooo much more powerful than the SE interface. If you want a camera get a cybershot. If you want an awesome phone with an awesome camera get the N73. The only feather in SE's cap is the P900 series of phones. And guess what they too use the symbian OS.
