I went through 3 of these phones in 4 months. My GF went through 2 of them.

This phone is way too fragile and delicate. The battery life is poor; not anywhere near up to par for Nokia. If you listen to ANY music at all, the battery lasts a day at best.

Screen cracks if you look at it funny; I broke it twice. Never had that problem with any other phone. Then, the microphone stopped working...I could listen to callers, but they could not hear me.

Additionally, the slider felt worn after a month of use; each phone was brand new and the slider felt as if it was going to start slipping closed after 4 weeks of use.

The camera image quality is OK, but there's no flash and the shutter is very, very slow so it's hard to catch images.

After my GF and I went through a total of 5 of these phones in 4 months, we switched phones. We were tired of replacing the 5300; it wasn't worth it.

I'd skip it. I hope they made the new 5310 more like a Nokia, and less like a fragile faberge egg.

Compared to other phone models, this 5300 nokia is not really support for downloading games. Even 3230 nokia phone able to download games but not 5300.
Why is that so ????

This phone is awesome...everyone that says it sucks or cracks or whatever...they must not know how to take care of it. I bought this phone the day it came out and it is still good as ever! it is awesome! it has been dropped and sat on and you name it and it is still running strong! so to everyone who is debting on wheather or not to get this phone, it is the best buy you will ever make! I love this phone!

I planned to buy this phone but of the many comments that doesn't sound good and mostly negative like bAttery problems, picture, and so on.. rather than a good thing, i changed my mind.....

right i got this phone for xmas there is only two probs
numba 1: when the speaker gets wet it is hard to fix
numba 2: dirt gets in it easy

I have a nokia 5300 for only two weeks and what I am ke phone danced to close it will not be much but uncomfortable opening a cover or on the screen the bottom of a cover as well as dancing is normal in this type teams! help me!!!! please

This phone is a nightmare. Not only does the 1GB memory card mysteriously become unformatted but the phone randomly doesn't ring. The wallpaper also blanks out to white. I tried exchanging this phone and the first day of having the exchange I had all the same problems and returned the exchange. And yes, I did try to reformat the memory card as stated in the manual on both my phone and the exchange, the option isn't even on the menu of my phone.

hi hello der.. im just asking about this phone.. ive got this phone on january 8 and its cool.. ive got louder music, nice applications and a lot of cool stuff but suddenly my friends pass me some music den after a several seconds my phone display are gone and its only a WHITE screen what do u think the problem of my phone can somebody help me here?!

Awesome phone, plays music, sharp images, have been using for about 1/2 yr already. What you need for the phone is a Case.- I have a plastic case that covers de phone, dropped the phone like 10x already, no problems what so ever.

only cons: low quality camera, takes a while to load MY programs.
bulky with plastic.

This phone rocks, and 4 all those people that say it carcks easily..well it's a mobile phone not some navy seals radio, and 4 those who's phones crashes and freezes and stop working maybe u got a Chinese fake one, cheap but totally made of china illegally like the N73, i absolutely recommend this phone, great music quality and look although the camera has a lower quality it's not that bad when u download'em on ur pc, thnx

Bought 2 of these phones 2 months ago both screens are cracked. now we are both stuck with cracked phones for 3 years. booooo.

I bought my phone back in may, and a couple weeks after that the phone itself would just randomly restart and sit on a white screen displaying only the battery life symbol in the corner and the time for about 4 minutes usually (the time would freeze so when the phone resumed life, it would skip ahead ___ minutes). it would do this about every 2 weeks, and eventually froze one too many times and wouldn't work anymore. I didn't know how to remove the back and take the battery out, but when I brought it in they found out that the memory card had somehow like exploded and all the programs, texts, numbers saved to the phone, etc. had been erased and couldn't be used anymore. I could place some calls but not for longer than 3 minutes before the phone would freeze. I ended up having to pay for the shipping of a new one, and it's started doing the same thing again. it's a good phone when it works, but there has to be something wrong with it and moreover, I think they know it. when I brought it in there didn't seem to be any surprise about it. So tomorrow, again, i'm going to bring it in (for freezing, and for the phone thinking the headset jack is still in when it's actually not), and, again, i'll probably pay for the shipping of a new phone. I WOULD recommend the phone, if it worked all the time, but the fact that it breaks down after about 2 months of use makes it, to me, not worth the hassle or money

hi to all nokia users!!! Well all I can say about this phone is, Great but I'm not satisfied with it's camera quality and it's slider.. This phone is so SENSITIVE!!! The screen scrathes easily.. But for me it's fine. But I bought new after using this one within one week. I bought N70 Music Edition.. Thanks Guys!!! Continue Supporting NOKIA!!! And GSMArena....

This mobile is TOO WEAK, It's slide the cover and start to move, drop in a carpet and the glass is gone. DON'T BUY IT. I think it's a swindle of Nokia, in the shop they told me Nokia knows this faults but they're continue selling this phone. The battery is for 48 hours, NO for 223 hours like 'spec', with no games, no music, only 3 phone call (6:32 minutes) and 8 SMS received. I only have Nokia phones and I continue with this idea, but now I desperate with piece of ....

i got this phone 3 month ago..i love it,but wish it have 3G & MP4 too, best thing is i droped it 2 times,it stil work nicely, no damages. onlything is short life of the battery
