Not so sure how large is that market, but then again BB may surprise us.

Every time I read a BB discussion I always get that nostalgic feeling that I am talking (once again) to Nokia fans and their "oh superior" OS.
I notice that almost the first thing GSM states in the article is lack of cutting edge hardware. LOL
Just a wild guess here, but if you're in the market for this device, the last thing you're worried about is a bleeding edge SoC. It simply is what it is. No reason to point out topics which only matter in the touchscreen race.
As an aside, GSMarena, where's the creativity I used to regularly see here?
BB Q10 was the most convenient phone I had. I only complaint the small screen size and the battery.
Now they upgraded it with the similar old school smartphone feeling, I'm so getting this one and be done with my Android.
A business user I am.
No matter how expensive an Android phone I have, no email client is better than Blackberry. Not even iOS.
For the record, I have all OS devices except Jolla so this is a genuine comment.
JACK HAMMER, 02 Jan 2015They are going to fall flat on their face again with this one, not even 10 units will be sold,... moreYou don't know jack about anything, all pre-orders for the Classic were sold out.

I have a pd p9983 as my work phone, interchanging between iPhone 6, oneplus, or various android devices depending on the purpose of the outings. That being said, I will never switch to another device for work purpose as the os is amazing and the keyboard is simply the best.
Nice phone. Glad to see some proper phones among all these huge touchscreen wannabes.
Also it isn't think, 1.1cm is just right to be able to hold to it properly. Thinner phones are just unusable.

Excuse me, are we talking of the same company? You know, the same that company that made Billions (with a B) and DOMINATED (read had over 50% market share) in the US market up until their downfall in 2009? The same company that spends several millions of dollars in endorsements (Mercedes AMG F1 Team for instance)?
'Cause all I can remember is a cocky giant like Nokia v2.0 that was "too good" to adapt to market demands up until it was too late and all market share was lost...
It's not a small firm, it's a giant that was put into his proper place.
JACK HAMMER, 02 Jan 2015They are going to fall flat on their face again with this one, not even 10 units will be sold,... moreQuite on the contrary! They made a right decision. BB CEO said - Classic is not for mass market but for BB loyal users. I like the description 'phone with the soul' and I always like to support smaller firms struggling to get bigger. According to mY needs, beeing sober and with full conscious I made a decision to buy one :)
BlackBerry back to its roots, a classic device as a BlackBerry should be. The core business phones for BlackBerry are phones like the Classic and the Passport. A full touch device is something extra next to these qwerty phones. Good job.

A device... moreIf you call having the very latest ARMv8 architecture which boosts significant performance improvements over previous ARMv7 CPUs (such as those featured on Android phones) "dated hardware", then let me get my carbon dating gear because we are going to need it to class some Blackberry phones.
Blackberry has its own unique set of advantages over other platforms, same way as others also have their unique advantages over Blackberry.
There is not point in going bat-sh*t crazy over it. And no, the pricing is not justified at all -- the reference in pricing isn't the Androids or iPhones, it's overpriced when compared to other Blackberries on the market. Plain and simple.
Classically overpriced. One again Blackberry does not seem concerned with getting its superior OS out there in the market. I just cannot understand their logic. Yes the Classic is about work and not for playing games and wasting time. OK One would buy it on that basis but please sack whoever is in charge of marketing strategies and prices.
Tango, 02 Jan 2015Even iPhone has dated hardware, still, it performs better than most of the Android's. A device... moreI could have written this post for you. I've heard this argument several times over. Agreed - specs don't matter on BB10 and I don't care about them. But if BB is offering 2 year old hardware, then they should price the phone appropriately. The Z10/ Q10 is available with almost similar internals for half of this. The extra $150-200 they are charging is just price gouging. Treating their rapidly declining user base as suckers.
They are going to fall flat on their face again with this one, not even 10 units will be sold, u sud be seriously drugged or having some mental disorders to even consider buyin this 1

The camera is slow to focus apparently, why was this not mentioned in the review?
Sam, 02 Jan 2015The review nailed it. Crazy of BB to ask for $450 for such dated hardware. They're milking the... moreEven iPhone has dated hardware, still, it performs better than most of the Android's. A devices capability is not dependent on the just hardware. Software plays an equally important part. And BlackBerry 10 is one of the best OS out there. Hence it easily bridges the gap. And $450 is very well justified.
