From my searching around with devices that have the same SoC, and OS and general model, but higher resolution, and I got these results for battery:
44 hrs. vs 60 hrs. - Find 7/7a (7 has extra 200mAh/300MHz)
48 hrs. vs 62 hrs. - Xperia Z/ZR
53 hrs. vs 65 hrs. - Xperia Z1/Z1C (Z1 has extra 700mAh)
85 hrs. vs 101 hrs. - Xperia Z3/Z3C (Z3 has extra 500mAh)
So as you can see, even with the larger batteries, in most cases these phones have noticeably inferior endurance. Based on this, I expect the ZF2 ZE550ML (720p) to have an endurance rating of about 75 hours or so.
I still think I'll get myself a Z3C once the new compact comes out and the price drops even further. I dunno, we'll see though. android 5.x is turning out to be kinda lame, just like iOS 8

One is full auto, one is HDR, one is ultra resolution. In all cases, you will see none of the smearing that the image optimization photos produce. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B3gPIM4JC2TrfkhUUWMwVTNNU2FkVG9LOEtybEZiTDZiVmthb29waHdLY0JNbXNueWZHOTA&usp=sharing
Any pictures without image optimization? Every sample picture I found on the internet looks really bad...
Anonymous, 15 Apr 2015i own an asus tablet fe375cg. 0 update 3 months ago. no more asus again to meall of the zenfone series was top notch.
from UI to features to price
also received plenty of updates.
and all zen devices are getting 5.0
asus ofcourse i will buy again
Battery and camera are a huge letdown.Intel soc and android os 5.0 are major contributor to this letdown.do really intel lacks in image processing???? or it is asus fault....
is it good buy for gaming?????
all i need is gaming....
i own an asus tablet fe375cg. 0 update 3 months ago. no more asus again to me
hasn't been launched worldwide.
I am sure they'll fix some android 5.0 issues and camera issues with a software update after it is launched.
GSMarena plz update the 4GB RAM review after software update
why? Where is the 4GB version? The performance between Z3560 and Z3680 are still a notch difference
Anomynous, 15 Apr 2015I don't follow, how is this a G4 challenger? You are not on the same page, price points far apart.this phone make noise but after the review seems most people who got excited are now disappointed. sorry Asus better luck nextime.
Im one of those people waiting for this but i think would go for LG G4 since it is a bit cheaper than most high end phone today.
Are you sure there's no problem with the device regarding brightness? You guys had brightness issues with S6 I think. Plz. check again.
for the camera test, I suggest turning OFF optimization. I had mine OFF with Zenfone 5 because of the "watercolor" effect it gives.
Quantify, 15 Apr 2015Yes, once image optimization and stabilization is turned off, still and video quality improve ... moreI wonder why with IS off, it is much better.
Hopefully it is on software that is fixable. Have you tried different camera app?
How "Bad" is the battery as you mean it? Last a day?
they know the battery suck as always, why dont they offer a removable battery with extra battery kit???.... sigh...
As much as it kills me to say this the Asus Zenfone 2 really disappointed everyone, thought of it as a new flagship destroyer. But the Oneplus One seems to be a far superior choice. But considering the price its compelling offer and surely kills all lower mid-range phones.
Also I think the top end version 4GB/2.3Ghz will definitely perform better bit not exceptionally better, just some better single core and multi core performance. Oh, and the visible difference in Antutu thanks to the Enormous RAM.
Imaging and image processing has never been an advantage for the Intel as they lag far far behind the Snapdragons and the Mediateks... But a change will come with some newer Intel chips.
Just waiting for the 4GB review. Maybe Asus will deliver better.
This is why Intel chips are useless, luckily this phone will become even cheaper in a few months, that's all there is to it. I got a Asus Zenfone 6 for someone simply because it is cheap, never was expecting great battery because Intel ships are just not good enough to match ARM solutions even with their process advantage and they are not even using their best nodes for these chips. Heavily subsidizing the chips to make someone take them is the only way they can push out their stock pile of trash SoCs.
Camera is appalling on the Zenfone 2, the zenfone 6 does a better job, then again never expected good camera from a low end phone like this.
