i compared this phone to my xperia z3 and my bestfriend's galaxy s6 and here are the results based from what i have noticed design of this phone is much better to hold and grip feels better in palm hand not slippery and i honestly like the cvrved arc on this phone, the screen i a bit better compared to other two. sharper and brighter. the camera is better than the z3, but very similar to s6. but in low light this phone nailed the contest g4'scamera is super fastest and sharpest with great details very less noise even when you zoom it. an 8mp with f2.2 apreture selfie is a real win for g4, no contest here interms of speed peformance still the g4 is second to s6 and faster than z3 but i never encounter any lags of hiccup very smooth performance and no issue like over heating or whatsoever. . . the battery is not the best but still easily managed an impressive 9;18hours video play back, s6 scorf 9;25hrs and z3's 10;54hrs. overall g4 is a great and truly improvement from g3.

Marcel, 07 May 2015This makes me wonder, exactly what indication do those benchmarks give when they're not exceee... moreThe benchmarks ran on sites like this show a very short moment of taxing the processors. It does not really show what happens when heat builds up over time. Luckily there has been some better investigation going on, which shows that SD810 throttles quite a bit more than Exynos 7420. At least part of that could be explained through the node used for the SoC.
The test in the following link taxes 2 high performance cores for 15 minutes, showing what happens when heat builds up:
First slide shows SD810 throttling quite worse than SD808 (have in mind, only 2 cores used by the test). Second slide shows that Exynos 7420 within 2 minutes time runs slower than SD808 and only occasionally runs faster again for a very short time. In short, SD808 will have a better performance when 2 high end cores are taxed for prolonged time. (the moments SD808 hits ~850MHz are the idle times between jobs)
Now imagine that Exynos 7420 would have to use all 4 high end cores simultaneously, it would crater clockspeed all the faster and all the worse. It could make you wonder how much faster the Exynos 7420 really can be. By the looks, not really a whole lot.
I checked this device recently, and there are two things that caught my impression. One is the display, other is the camera.display looks way better than G3,Htc M9,and possibly even better than Iphone 6 plus !I agree with gsmarena, this could be the best lcd display available right now.I think when it comes to display,S6/Note 4 is at 100,G4 is at 96,Iphone 6p is at 95,M9 and G3 at 80.Camera is another thing that caught my impression.I wouldnt risk saying this is the best camera phone, but from my personal experience I think its better than the Note 4,which has one of the best camera available. Now,I'm waiting for Gsmarena's review, lets see how my prediction goes.
"LG G4 captures still images with impressive quality - one of the best we've encountered to date. There are amazing levels of resolved detail in each shot, coupled with low noise, and stellar colors and contrast."
Well that sounds like a winner to me. This phone is exactly what I want. A stylish and competent device.

Look at the long term performance. The Galaxy S6 can't even keep up with the LG G3 with SD805 (Adreno 420)
Meanwhile, long term performance of G4 is in too:
As you may see, when you are using your precious SoC's GPU for prolonged time, it is being beaten by SD808 soundly. So yes, if you need 4 high perf CPU cores, Samsung will do slightly better, but on the graphical side of things, Exynos 7420 just plainly sucks. It's horrible.
Exynos wins hands down but non-removable battery and no sdcard slot make some people wanna buy G4 more...
Anonymous, 08 May 2015Well seeing photos compared with iPhone with my eyes makes me laugh and cry simultaneously...
... moreIt is a better display. And most tests are still review units.
Sadly the catch is lg purposefully saturated it without giving you the option to change it which was a foolish move.
And you can laugh at the great photos of the G4 all you like.
Anonymous, 08 May 2015G3 lagsSo what if the G3 lags? Its the G4 he was talking about.
Anonymous, 07 May 2015Quantum dot display on G4 is a great one
see the reviews in different techsites.
Well seeing photos compared with iPhone with my eyes makes me laugh and cry simultaneously...
And LG delusional idea is to new Quantum IPS should beat Apple one :)
And even more, review from Phone Arena measured lower brightness then G3 and that is pathetic...quantum joke as I said...
MHanz, 08 May 2015Outstanding camera shots compared to anything Samsung has out there today. People complaining ... moreBut the Sy has better exposure, room light shots, and better audio/video recording.
So far at least.
ithehappy, 08 May 2015Yeah, I know that, I have a Note 3 but this display is more than good to me, so I can realise ... moreThey never said it could be the best display on a mobile. They described LGS claims of accuracy, but it's already shown to be saturated. Lg messed up by not including screen modes like the Galaxies.
Lg also tried to claim that their S808 would outperform the exynos which has been proven bogus.
Outstanding camera shots compared to anything Samsung has out there today. People complaining about noise, LOL they don't even know what it means. There is no noise found on these shots to the levels we saw in the official shots. It is vastly improved.
The only complaint is the slight purple fringing found in some of the day light shots.
Battery life may not be a LG G2 beater that will be the main issue though.
If there is no hiccup or no lag who cares about bechmarks..all i want is a lag free phone..and the G4 is one of them.
This is a mid range phone, and if they wanna sell, it has to reflect mid range price. The screen throttles as well when the phone gets hot and you can't control it. GSMA the colours of that screen is not accurate at all according to other reviews.
What im sick of is reviews, especially GSM Arena are known for it, is this little example:
Iphone 6 or whatever apple review, best smartphone on the market just amazing and the smarts at apple have done it again. Any other handset, great phone, great looks but not as good looking as an iphone, but yada yada yada to the end of the review and its the old but if you are an apple user then this phone wont interest you.
Now is that me or is that simply propaganda?
What is funny is they always claim the so called amazing design of the iphone is better than any phone? Like hell it is, look at them stupid bezels.....
