why don't they use normal headphone jacks instead of these incredibly finicky connectors!

The achilles heel is the stupid 3.5 adapter. It breaks easy and makes the phone awkward to handle and put in your pocket. I've already broken 3. Sony will never learn!

I like it for a slim phone it's not as wierd looking as the other ones on the market and its not to large and wide aswell. I would have like to see a radio but with with the thin phones you got to pick what you can fit in it and think they picked the right things. I will personally wait for the 5Mp phone that will probably anouched before cebit.

i think the W880 is a good mobile. clear handling, good speakers, camera. the only problem there is, is the small keyboard

W880 is the same hardware as W700 except the different memory card and no camera lens, same video, same camera, same screen, it's only thinner and I am not sure that is a positive thing! W700 is a much better buy if you want a Walkman phone!!!

Sonyericsson should introduce symbian in their phones. I mean not just in touchscreens. Since w800, they have not introduce something different. Anyway jumping into the slim fashion is no doubt a positive move.

I think the keypad is copied from Nokia N91. What about battary life? Not to mention music playback time.

pls can anyone help me? in the review it says
"A nice thing is that the phone has a dedicated Flight mode, but unlike Sony Ericsson W850 for example, it can't be switched to or form without turning the phone off. Once you turn it off, the W880 can ask you whether you want to start it directly into Flight mode. A substantial difference, let say to Nokia flight mode, is that the phone cannot work in Flight mode unless there is a SIM card inserted. "
I have w850, and i cant switch o flight mode unless i turn it off. why does it say the oppoite. ? Alo the same foe w880! help pls!!!

Well it looks nice and is really slim, has good features but not great. No radio:(! Why oh why! Still I like it ,although the back panel looks too "bling". Well done SE on you're first Ultra thin phone.
Also... GSM ARENA, the Benq Siemens EF81 has a task switcher key so the W880i is not the only non-OS phone with it.
