Sony Ericsson K550 review: A Cyber-shot on a budget - read the full textAlready a magic word in the world of mobile phones, the Cyber-shot brand, has now received a new member. The Sony Ericsson K550 is a feature-rich cameraphone with an enjoyable 2 megapixel camera, nice imaging applications, FM radio and a memory card slot. And all that at a reasonable price that may attract your attention. Anyways, if we’ve managed to grab it, feel free to join us on a tour with the K800’s little brother.

bought it yesterday, u can't use the phone when recharging, the screen goes totally black on powersave mode, photo quality is enough good, but can't say the same thing for video.. the phone's enough good for the price, also looks smart and smaller than those huge nokias.. i was thinking of getting a nokia but u can't hold it with one hand:)
Can give 8/10 to k550i

i can't understand GSMArena saying this...

"Web browser doesn’t live up to the challenge"

they explained that the imode cuts down the web browser capabilities of this im phone. what if they have used the real K550 cybershot? i doubt that the non imode version will do the same as the IM because i have red the W710 review and it enables landscape web browsing and as far as i know the K550 and W710 shares same platform JP-7 with K500 having the new netfront 3.3 (same with W880's one) internet browser. i think gsmarena shoudn't say that.

K750i is better than this one. i am not going to pay a higher amount for EDGE. instead i would have given it a consideration if it had 3G. also the memory card of 550i is costlier then 750i so why go in for this one. both have same screen resolution.

Hi e_p_a_k ,

Well yes the light only flashes brightly when it actually takes the picture.

is the flash here the steady, constant photolight like with the k750i or more like the one that switches on only at the moment of capture like in the k800i?

When in powersave mode, K550i screen goes totally black, clock is not visible (it's there but almost impossible to see). Is this only on my phone?

I knew what is popular of Sony Ericcson......All phones are "High-tech Brick".You can use the "Brick" to call people, take photos, listen to the music, watch video clips, play games............and also SHOW OFF!

the camera is a beta version and look good already, in its final version it will be similar to the k750i because praises itself of their cyber shot

Although Sony Ericcson is popular on Cyber-Shot and Walkman, but I prefer Nokia phone.Nokia models' function is quite a lot of different than the other.Like the 6233 and N70.But SE,about 98% of models is same fuction and progress.

Is it mean that the cyber-shot of K550 is lousy?

to those blind nokia fanatics(for sure)

well K750 is old now, and K550 has similar design and camera but anyways lets find it N93's poor sensor, N76 and other 2mp cameras from nokia would beat camera of K550. and look at the performance of the menu and see who's gonna be better in multitasking audio, camera and texting at once.

and please look at the name: K550, successor of the famous K510, so don't expect something to be better.

SE will make a big leap for sure at the 3GSM, as expected for the rapidly growing market of SE.

im sorry but ur post doesnt make any sense... im not comparing n95 with k550.. im just complaining about nothin new in k550 (same old specs with some minor differences, and a new look) this is actually k750 which is 2 years old now..

whats da point of releasin a phone 2 years later which offers nothin new from its existing brother..

lets hope k800 successor (sofia) will come with a complete package..

Can you just understand that this phone is intended for a different market than the N95. This phone is going to be less than half the price of the N95!

This is a great phone for where it's positioned.
