Jeffdvx, 26 Sep 2015I don't get the criticism towards the HDR mode, i think the first one looka really great! I me... moreHDR on this phone is really terrible. The software just increase the exposure. The end result is pretty horrible if you ask me. There is no dynamics to the HDR function.
Oh and one more thing. I suspect the dual SIM version got the interior screen as the white balance is totally off. The screen is whitish with no deep blacks. You will need to tweak the white balance yourself to get some improvement to the whitish screen problem.
Bought it three days ago. Battery life absolute suck a&$. Cameras are good though. If you like to take pictures of food and selfies this is the phone for you. Just make sure you have a powerbank with you all the time.
I dont understand why sony have produced a lot of xperia phones with big megapixel counts, with exmor rs sensor, 1/2.3 sensor size but still fails to deliver quality photos. Been tried diffent xperia devices including z1c,z3,c4 but they produced mediocre photos, why cant they make a camera phone that produces astonishing quality photos just like their digital camera, sld, dslr.
Anonymous, 26 Sep 2015but the battery life...What is wrong with 2 days battery life?
i like sony phones because of user interface as well as the clarity of music through headphones...dont use clear audio plus technology use always manual settings on equilizer...also use studio vpt for best bass...i prefer equilizer settings as left to right -2,+2,+6,-2,+5......clear bass +10...
I like display because of minimum frame on side and back camra is so good and Frant camra is very good, and get 2 day battery backup,
Ive gone from the z3 to this and absolutely love it! The screen and the cameras are better than the z3 for stills. Shame about the battery and lack of quick charge though.
just to clearify , the mint green color is mat type so its not the glossy one the black/white has!
My C5 looks great, but the camera app takes too long to load. I hope Sony will fix this via some software updates.
The reason sold my t2 ultra was the bad camera . When C5 ultra came out , i tot of getting it as i liked the 6" screen. As it turned out it dissapoints again with the same old camera . Got a note 5 instead.
Bad camera and bad battery, thats enough for me to not want this phone. The huge front camera ruined the looks of it, and the back looks cheap.
I don't get the criticism towards the HDR mode, i think the first one looka really great! I mean i don't think it just bumps exposure up; you can perfectly see things in the brighter parts of the picture, and the darker parts of the original pic have way more detail in the HDR one. I just completely disagree.
And guys PLEASE edit your reviews before you upload them... It's mostly well written, but there are annoying little details in nearly every paragraph. I'd be happy to donit for you if you need a helping hand.
Sony is *still* putting Spiderman on the screen in promotional shots? *yawnnnnnnnn*
drifter77, 25 Sep 2015Big disappointment. Pretty mediocre battery performance, 6 hrs of web browsing is a joke. Also... moreLooks are subjective. I like the design and some of the other commenters do too. But the battery life is indeed quite poor.
Main disadvantages from a C5U user
1- 16GB >> 32GB
2- 2GB RAM >> 3GB RAM
3- no ip >> Any ip will be good
4- Single front speaker >> 2 front speakers
5- 2930 mAh >> 4000mAh
