i have been checking out a lot about mobile phones for the last 2 weeks. i had always loved nokia n 95 8gb mobile phone, and i always used to compare my dream mobile phone with all mobiles!i dont think so there is a single mobile phone with which i have not compared my loved mobile! and at last i decided to get nokia n95 8gb but as i was about to get the phone i thought to compare it with n95 classic, and i was astonished to see the same rather better features of classic mobile and it changed my mind! now i am gonna bu nokia n95 classic because it is offering the same features as nokia n95 8gb rather more features at a low price which is i would say an edge for nokian95 classic:-)
best wishes for those who wanna get this master mobile soon....
bye all

I have a major problem, I have a Nokia N95
First: All of sudden my 1er cam (the one behind) is not working either by opening the lens or from the camera icon in the menu.
NB: if I use the Scanner program or the Barcode reader or even a Video call, the 1er cam is working properly
Second: in the video call the secondary camera is not working
Anyone have any idea how to solve this problem regarding that I formatted the memory card and the phone memory and I updated to the new software 30.0.015
My mail: wessamnagui@hotmail.com
Thanks

I have had the Nokia N95 for 5 months and have nothing but problems. 2 weeks after getting it I couldnt send texts and had to do a hard reset which meant I lost all contacts and texts. The camera doesnt work now which is what I bought it for in the first plac and the volume button is broken so I cant turn the volume down. I have also got a crack in the screen from pushing up the phone to use it. I am a great fan of nokia and have used them for 10 years, however I would not recommend the N95 to anybody. Avoid at all costs.

I've just bought an N95 with 12.0.013 version/software. I just wanna ask you guys if you also experience these things...about the review key (your shortcut key to your gallery at the right side of the n95), does it really blink twice after using your phone even if you did not activate or use either your camera or review key? how many shots did you have when you chose burst in the sequence mode of the camera? Do you have a same number of shots when you repeat the burst option in your sequence mode? because the maximum number of shots i came up to is 6 but sometimes 2 or 3 and sometimes 1? do u also experience this thing? thanks for those who'll respond with these concerns of mine.

I just got a N95 this week (in the sand colour - I'm not sure if i like it but hey it came with free JBL speakers:P). I've gotta say this phone is awesome! I also have a K800 and whilst I love it, and thought I'd never go away from Sony Ericssons, the N95 has managed to convince me...
In having both phones I've had a chance to try them out and as for the camera quality, the N95 in normal daylight conditions kicks the K800's ass. In low light or at night time the K800 does do better (a Xenon flash will do that) but even still, the N95 quality isn't that bad.
the one thing that used to annoy me about the K800 was the video quality, so with the N95 it wins here too - quality is heaps better. Even the video call quality is way superior to the K800.
I haven't had any problems with the slide mechanism yet... i had a 6280 and that was a piece of crap with it's mechanism. the slide function on the N95, in my opinion, is fine and I think will last the distance. I tend to answer the phone with the phone closed and only slide it up if i need to use the keypad, so I'm hoping this will help the longevity of the sliding parts as well.
I was a bit worried about the battery life after reading the review, but i have to say i'm really impressed with mine - i'm making and receiving about 20 calls a day, 2 or 3 video calls, about 30 text and a couple of emails and a bit of web browsing (all in one day), and my battery's lasting about 2 and a half days. I think that's quite impressive.
all in all if you're thinking about this phone i would say go for it! I used to be a dedicated sony ericsson gal, but i have to say Nokia's persuaded me otherwise with the N95...

I cant resist commenting again. I love my n95
To the lads and lasses at GSM Arena, i always use your site/reviews in judging which mobile i will upgrade to next. You guys and www.mobile-review.com are the most extensive reviewers i have found on the net. Love your work, keep it up
For those of you that have been bagging gsmarena, let me say this. ITS A FREE SERVICE. gsmarena doesnt charge us to view there website/reviews, and they are very extensive in there content. I dare say the people that do the reviews are technology enthusiasts that use there spare time to help us poor saps out by giving us a bucklet load of info about a product that is now in main stream societies everywhere ie mobile phone.
I loved comparison between the n95 and the sony digicam. Of course the Sony digicam would take better images. The point of that review was to see how far mobile phones equipped with digital cameras have come. Well done gsmarena, boo to the people who could not grasp that concept (i refer to other users opinions posted).

I just purchased the n95 earlier in the week and i have nothing but praise...so far.
My major concern before purchasing it was the poor battery life nearly all reviews comment about. I am very happy/surprised The battery lasts me 3 full days until i need to charge it. Thats with an average amount of phone calls, msgs, video and photo capture as well as normal usage exploring all the phones features.
For those who love the se k800's image capture quality, i refer you to its poor video capture quality. Arguements can be made between which camera takes the best photo's but without a doubt i believe the n95 takes the best videos - its audio recording (when recording videos) alone surpasses other phones available (at least in Australia). Therefore in this users opinion, the n95 wins for image/video capture.
Also the camera lense/flash area of the n95 does not protrude as far out from the rear of the phone as the k800 - a much sleeker design if you will.
I read gsmarenas reviews of the n95 extensively before purchasing it. One of the comments made was its poor slide mechanism. The reviewer did say to check the mechanism of the unit before purchasing, so far its perfect, much better than my previous nokia 6280. But the reviewer was spot on about the creaking noises between the top and bottom it eminates when the phone is slide up to reveal the numeric keypad. When pressing the menu button (or similar buttons around it) there are slight creaking noises. To me this isnt a major issue, the creaks arent that bad and dont seem like they could get worse. HOWEVER how it fares over time will be an interesting factor.
If you live in Australia, dont expect any GPS maps preloaded on the n95. There are only asian cities on my particular unit, great if i am in Asia, not so great in Perth, Western Australia.
I could go on but this comment is getting tooooo long. To some up
Pro's - This phone has the most features of any phone available in Australia, and those features tend to be at the high end of the sprectrum (eg 5mp camera, auto focus, carl z optics, videos at 640 x 480 @ 30fps, 1gb memory card included, its construction is well thought out (apart from creaking noises when phone is slid up)
Con's - The main LCD screen is exposed - NO hard plastic protecting it from scratches & accidental pressure etc (In Nokia's defence they counter this by including a plastic film to insert over the screen to prevent scratches as well as a very cool leather case, wether thats Austrlia specific i dont know.
Can only VIEW office files, not alter them
Any others cons are outwayed by the phones features, style and construction - BEST PHONE AVAILABLE.....so far

GREAT review, GSM arena is top-notch for any reviews.
I got a very early N95 and it's fantastic, some software glitches and the camera application could be better.
I chose
Based on scene mode [Auto]
Flash [off]
white balance [auto]
exposure comp [-0.5]
Colour tone [normal]
light sens [auto]
contrast [normal]
Sharpness [soft] This is the important bit as the "sharpness" is just awful, not you will need to reset this each time you change back into camera mode (Software bug)
It takes superb images as nice as my regular (super compact 5MP) camera, especially in good light.

This fones got a great cam. You can never really tell that its from a mobile fone especially in day snaps. Good job Nokia. I love this fone. I now have a real reason not to bring my digicam in simple occassions. Highly recommend to those that can afford. Thanks to my mom.
