Nokia N95 review: Nokia’s crown jewel
This is the our detailed test of Nokia N95, the best equipped phone on today’s mobile market. Nokia N95 is among first mobiles to have a built-in camera with a 5 megapixel resolution. Among its lures are also an integrated GPS module, HSDPA support, two-way sliding construction, and a very handy 3.5 mm jack connector for earphones.

its nice nokia is leading the market with new inivations once again but, will nokia ever make a phone that doesnt hang? ive had over 20 nokia phones and their earlier models with the black and white screens were good. when they started with all these functions and what nots the phones got worst and worst. dont get me wrong the design and the general ideas they have for their phones are very good but, having a phone that actually works well without having to restart or pulling out the battery everyday cause of the phone hanging is a lot more important. my last experience with nokia that i actually bought was the n80. a phone that had wifi 3.+ mega pixel camera and other bells and whistles that was just pure garbage! no i didnt have a bad unit cause 3 of my other friends had the same phone that would always hang. another model that had that same problem was the n73. my phone was purchased for an authorized nokia dealer and i took my phone 2 times to the service center for software upgrades that just didnt work. i think they should concentrate more in improving the way their phones work instead of releasing new models every so often that in reality are not improvements of their old units. since then ive switched to sony ericsson. i currently own a p990, k610, and a z520. the p990 still has a few problems but nothing as bad as my experiences with nokia but the z520 and the k610 have never ever had to be restarted nor have they ever hung. nokia should come out with reliable devices if they want to keep their customer loyalty. they already lost one.

k800i, micro is sucks la. i cant even get then words clearly.
n95, the camera is as smooth as a camera.. and video recording is good as well. just that some noobs come and say their own coments to spoil other people's thinking about this phone.
gsm wont say this phone deserve best of all if it's that worst like you said. dont know why some people dont think before they talk. zzz

I seriously doubt it will be a success.. nokia N93 has a very poor battery .. what else can be a drawback . .my nokia n93's battery last one and half day ..if i switch the 3g on ... think aobut GPS then in Nokia n95 even when its battery is weaker than N93.

Working for a mobile company i can firmly say that the N95 isnt all its cracked up to be. The battery is very poor, the software has a lot of bugs and the camera is not really that good. the sony ericsson k800i has a lot better flash and has a better auto focus. stick with sony ericsson, they dont break as much, the batterys are brilliant and the cameras are untouchable. Nokia have sunk so low recently. Everyone i have sold one too comes back saying they prefered their k800i.
Dont buy one

funny how the N95 package that you guys had didn't come with a memory card.. when i bought mine it came with a 1GB card and a Nokia leather case. Weird how this world works.

For VOIP, i used Fring for the N95 last night via a wifi connection to another skype user. It works great!!
Also, the review is incorrect when it states the GPS unit doesnt work with 3rd party apps. It actually does work with 2 apps - Navfone Pro and Wayfinder 7! Tomtom will release a patch shortly to use it. I'm not sure about the other GPS apps for S60 tho.

Anyone use this phone for VoIP yet? I need a world phone and wifi is an absolute must as is the ability to use VoIP. I know skype doesn't put out software for anything but windows, but has anyone used wifi on this with any other software to make VoIP calls? Thanks.

very good phone. but without long lasting battery life all of the features and functions are useless. come on Nokia...we need a phone with similar function of N95 but the battery life should at least last for 2 to 3 days.

When i first heard of the price of the N95 sim free of £500 i could not believe a company like Nokia would produce a phone to expensive i tried an early upgrade but failed then went on Ebay an won one an its just amazed me what a superb phone it is,it looks as though its going to be heavy but its so light an a lovely size ,Nokias done a cock- up with the battery but i hope soon there will be some software to improve the battery life an its a top phone by Nokia
