Small battery, no OIS for the camera, too many megapixels (23) = small pixels = poor low light performance. For me no-OIS is the deal-breaker, which is sad considering Sony positioning its phones as camera-centric.

gsma why don't you enquire about the glass on these fine phones??

Wtf? Since when gsmarena became a camera dedicated site?
I thought it was a mobile device site, why do they only care about imaging these days?
ok, its an important feature for some, but not the only important feature modern phones have!
Its a hands on review and we see no benchmarks, no mention about performance, build quality, battery endurance, those sites are promoting camera imaging as the only thing that counts...
I got disappointed after this review there is no changes for the back camera the galaxy s6 may be better

KingSingh, 18 Apr 2016Wow, the field of view is incredible, seriously look how much more are is captured in the sides
Its nothing new!Sony has wide angle cameras for years back.
Granted you get softnes and a bit of distortion on the outer third of the photo. But the distorsion is easily corrected trough photoshop and the softnes is a price you had to pay for such a wide field.Sadly most people prefer narower but sharper image of the competing smartphones :(
man of war, 18 Apr 2016Its so easy bro because xperia x is not a flagship , and I never consider x performance as a f... moreThe X performance is the device I'm referring to. It has the hardware necessary to support 4k recording, so I don't see why it can't be there.
The camera being able to top DXoMark or not, is not going to really help the X much, it's pricing that will be the make or break of this device.
Not sure myself what the latest news on that price is, others on here seem to have the inside scoop (or at least like to think they do) as far as all things Sony is concerned, so maybe they can help enlighten us on that front? but in the uk at least, if it's north of £400, it's going to fail hard.
The internal Memory should not be less than 64gb. What will you do with such great specs if you can't install enough apps or data on ur phone. The power available in this phone will go waist due to pack of internal memory.
JF69, 18 Apr 2016Why, the camera is fine, nothing wrong with it, at the end of the day, it is still a phone cam... moreSony came a long way with their software... I'm happy they picked things up with the Z3, Z5 and now the X series.
hakaner, 18 Apr 2016Sony should fire their mobile camera software engineers...Could you read the full article before you comment kid? They already said that: "Before examining the images, we should note that the sample unit we had was not running final software. In other words, the output from commercially available phones may differ from what we're getting at this stage of the Xperia X's development."

Cant wait dxomark to put this midranger on top of the pile. B-)
Wont miss 4k either, installed the app, tried 2 times, deleted it, the res is nonusable and eats gigabytes like mad.
Wow, the field of view is incredible, seriously look how much more are is captured in the sides
Sony is slowly taking themselves out of the mobile phone industry.
hakaner, 18 Apr 2016Sony should fire their mobile camera software engineers...Why, the camera is fine, nothing wrong with it, at the end of the day, it is still a phone camera with a small sensor, noise will be there regardless if you know anything about camera sensors and how they work.
