Samsung U700 review: Ultra fit

Samsung U700 review: Ultra fit - read the full textBrilliant QVGA display, HSDPA, 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, memory card and many other functions in a fashionably slim shape. Samsung U700, a.k.a Samsung Ultra 12.1, is one of the four slim models in the Ultra Edition II Series. The number indication 12.1 refers to the body thickness in millimeters. The U700 model is the slimmest slider ever to support high-speed data transfers over HSDPA.

Problem on sgh u700 is small volume ringing tone and cant use MP3 as message alert tone... We must help me....

2) It will bring up a menu:
[1] Load Params
[2] Dump Params
[3] Call Config

3) Press Back, and it will bring up another longer menu
4) Key in 3 to bring up SPK Config Menu
5) Then key in 4 to bring up AV-QTune(MP3) menu
6) Key in 1 to bring up SPK MP3 Vol. menu
7) Key in 6 to change the max. volume
8) Input 40 and press OK, it will change to 4.0db default max. volume is -3db. I wouldn't recommend higher than 6.0db because the sound will distort, anything lower will be fine.
9) Once done, press cancel to close the service menu and try to play a mp3 with max. volume. This volume apply for your MP3 Ringtones and Message tones.

Note: If you restart your phone, your settings will be changed to default.

When you do like the guy told: you know with the whole profile thing! The problem is that you canīt take your tones that you downloaded (and yes they are mp3)

I have my u700 more than a month now, and i think its the best.
If you get annoyed with touch screen, then i suggest u shouldnt buy it, but i dont think its too sensitve as other people say. They memory isnt that gr8, but once u buy a memory card, it is awesome. The musicplayer is very good, and the volume can go very high as well. I recommend this phone for all the people who like touch screen and who like a slide samsung phone!! Its my favorite phone!

U700 - Major disappointments are
1)shiny metallic coating easily peeled off.
2)Ringing tone volume too soft, missed calls alot.
3)Touch screen too sensitive resulting in unintended actions by the U700.
4)Video below expectation, quality about the same with 2.0 pixel that I used to own(also Samsung).
U700 - Good sides
1)Full hour of clear audio recordings - good for meetings and secret recordings even in breast pocket.
2)Clear still pictures.
3)Memory card to keep all recordings.
4)Clear and beautiful sounds using the supplied earphone.
5)Creating musical playlists very easy.

Hi Guys, Got the phone in Oz via Optus. Pretty happy with it over all.

Q: In the Samsung media manager and I'm wanting to convert video to 320x240 (QVGA), it lets me select U700 as the phone and then offers resolutions of QVGA, QCIF and sub QCIF. I've converted some files into QVGA mode.

But after transfering to phone, when trying to play the file, U 700 reports that "resolution unsupported" and goes back to file menu.

Has the U700 been cut down or what?!?!!?? I was expecting this phone to be whiz bang!

Does any one know how to get QVGA enabled for playing back files?

Thanks in advance. :)

To use the underscore key or other little symbols, while you're using the internet, hold down the # key and the symbols menu will pop up.
