Some people love IPS LCD displays as it offers almost true to life colours, excellent contrast, have a longer life spans and softer to the eye while others love sAMOLED displays as it offers colours that really 'pop' on your screen, offers great colour accuracy in Basic Mode, infinity contrast, more efficient, and produce pure black images.
For me personally, I love sAMOLED display as when compared to IPS LCD, the sAMOLED display offers richer colours. IPS LCD display is a bit dull and unattractive to my taste. Again, everyone has their own personal preferences.
Suddenly makes the refurbished Note7 a whole lot interesting at least for a while just until Galaxy X or Note 8 have the market for a spin
I have a S7 Edge black pearl. i use a OtterBox with built in protector. i know more than 5 people who broke their screens.
this glass made phone trend is just utter nonsense. i have used always samsung phones.
but aftr s7 edge, I will not buy any fragile samsung piece of crap

But it doesn't excite and 'WOW' me as much, mainly because I know I can't get one as it have limited quantity. And it doesn't even sell in stores globally. The only way people can get the Mi MIX is from a China importer, which is a deal breaker for me as there're risks associated with doing so, in terms of customer support, refund rights, and warranty.
For me, I like to 'feel' my phone before buying it. So, I'm giving the Mi MIX a pass. (Kinda like the way you tested your Nexus 6 in a store before buying it).

I have used the S7 Edge SAMOLED display, but the Xperia XZ display is still by far the best screen I have ever seen and used, providing great color accuracy while maintaining excellent contrast, color accuracy, and a surprisingly deep level of blacks for an IPS technology

Now, Samsung makes me ... moreMy first "wow"-feeling was my old Nexus 6 (when I saw and tested it in a store, HAD to get one immediately - I did) due to the 6" display, then the next was Xiaomi's Mi Mix with the 6.44" display. No other wow-feelings produced by phones, not by iPhones or past/other Android-phones.
ren122, 31 Mar 2017amoled is saturated and innacurate, also not as sharp as LCD. LCD has had many advancments... moreThis is just laughable. Seems like the last time you saw an AMOLED screen was in 2010.
Bunyip22, 30 Mar 2017The big thing i don't like about the G6 is the LCD screen. They simply aren't close to AMOLED.... morei agree on the lcd vs amoled thing...but in recent reviews its proved that the lcd panel on the g6 is one of the best displays out there....!!! no doubt the panel on the s8 will be more bright n will have better contrast..!
The last "WOW" experience for me was when Apple unveiled the iPhone 5s. Now, Samsung makes me feel that "WOW" experience again for the Galaxy S8.
after owning several s5 s6 s7 I will get g6. s8 is big let down especially in this price tag / specs
Bunyip22, 31 Mar 2017I agree, the S7 camera is awesome (as was my Note 7 camera). If you can do one great camera, ... moreCamera wise i think Samsung played a safe game with S8....May be reserving something for the Note8? Even though the S7's camera was great, i was little bit disappointed with retaining same thing for S8. Not a deal breaker for many though. No one worried when Apple reused same 8 MP camera for three generations......
Struggling...fingerprint scanner on the back... BIG NO NO...curved on the sides, edges on the back and top/bottom BIG NO NO,appart the screen BAD DESIGN...SO IT'S A NO FROM ME!
1) Bixbi - Why why why ...do you want to recreate the wheel when Android / Google has assistant !!! Focus your energies on building better phones (may I add that dont blow up).
Here is how to recover and not add sami bloatware -Give the user the option to program the bixbi button instead to launch google assistant if they want.
2) The S8 Battery - 1 generation old and not enough mAh - should have been at least 4500 for the S8+
3) Camera well it ok but compared to whats out there again close to being 1 generation old.
Nokia did not listen to their customers and see where they are... I fear Samsung is also becoming customer deaf .
Samsung - Wake up.
ren122, 31 Mar 2017amoled is saturated and innacurate, also not as sharp as LCD. LCD has had many advancments... moreActually i'm really tired to explain you because of your ignorant and stubborness. You never owned every Samsung's product. The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have very accurate display with basic mode color profile. Your beloved Xperia is very very poor calibrated, very inaccurate display.
