xXtrashboatXx, 13 May 2017OK all the trolls are bitching about bezels, at least it doesn't look like every other android... moreBut it looks like every phone released by Sony in past years. I can't tell the difference between Xzp or any other Sony flagship phone came in 3-4 years. S8 with its beautiful curved infinity display makes it the best looking, out of the crowd easily recognizable phone.
Bunyip22, 13 May 2017Dude. Those Sony XZP low light pics are terrible. You should stop using them as a "good" example. Don't worry my dear brother.
Sony is just starting to join the low light kings' camp.
Don't worry because soon the next 2017 Sony flagship will finally be on par with Samsung and the whole competition in photography department.
They are already killing the videography department and photography is soon to follow.
Mark my words if you want and a pleasant day to you. :-)

Even s8/+ uses Sony camera tho, but not as good as Sony, because Samsung software is terible when processing captured image, but how about Exynos edition? Idk can you tell me?
Bunyip22, 13 May 2017Xzp is better in those pics??.. Really? Those photos highlight my comments about low light per... moreYou are either blind, or a fnboy.
XZ Prem is better in all aspects here, except higher exposure, which can easily be lowered in automode.
You are talking nonsns here.

God those low light auto samples are actually scary to look at and hard to believe in mid 2017. Probably next year they might come up with something which might rival the two year old like S7 and Pixel and iPhone 7 and sorts.
Tann Hauser, 13 May 2017Here, I made a quick lowlight compare XZ Prem vs S8+:
IMO XZ Pre... moreXzp is better in those pics??.. Really? Those photos highlight my comments about low light performance. (the low light gsmarena studio is 28lux which is a lot brighter and the Sony is still poor)
The S8 has massively better dynamic range, better colour and has more detail.
Jmh02, 13 May 2017They build imx378 so why not use it ?
And where I live p10 plus is a good 150 usd cheaper th... moreSony always makes an exclusive sensor for its flagship.
No idea why, they just do.....
Samsung, htc, apple etc all use sony sensors to top dxomark but for reason sony's post processing is not upto the mark....
Forget imx 378, they could have used imx 333 or imx 362 both of them have 2017 standard hardware....
As expected poor loudness. Why would one buy mobile and suffer to hear the other part or when turn on speaker and can't hear anything in a noise environment.
It is time Sony to go to another brand
oppps, 13 May 2017At the normal distance that we use our phone, 4K resolution on the Xperia XZ Premium seems lik... moreZ5P was until now only 4K phone, and this one should be better. I remember people to say QHD as useless in phones. It's not about whether you can see, difference is there, be it just "feeling" when watch from 30cm, or eye popping difference of 4mp and 8mp when you look from 10cm. Point is you get to enjoy that when it matters, while otherwise its running on your favorite fhd. If you care so much about low light photography, try other brands, but be aware that no one got more realistic color reproduction, also even if low light auto is bad in resolution, its great in colors and processing is better than ever. Its true that this short super-slo-mo is too short, but its not useless as its not some low res sd but hd clip. Also every phone got slo-mo so nobody using it and it being useless is not true. Finally top and bottom bezels are only disadvantage, if you compare it to durability of edges or corners of S8, therefore XZP is more life-proof, so you wont get an heart attack after it falls. I surely wouldn't want a phone that breaks after one fall or to wear it in a case after paying extra for edges.
phonearena says its an impressive camera（xzs）for daylight. androiduthority says its one of the better camera for low light, recombu says its(xzs) the best camera phone out there. i downloaded many camera samples of xzs from several sites and compred with my frnds. s8 and found much better than s8. i also examined those sample and found no weakness. actually xzs or xzp the best camera phone out there. in low light you have tweak the settings manually and will get better photos comparable with s8 or g6. for video recording its the king and other just commoner! remember GSMA said xzp is even better than xzs.
They build imx378 so why not use it ?
And where I live p10 plus is a good 150 usd cheaper than xzp.
Tann Hauser, 13 May 2017Here, I made a quick lowlight compare XZ Prem vs S8+: http://imgur.com/a/knpR3 IMO XZ Pre... moreYour own photos show the S8 takes way better low light pics! The Sony ones are massively over exposed and you cannot even see anything for all the white light. Your eyes need sering too bud. Sony make great phones but their phone cameras cannot touch Samsung.
So a mixed bag as far as the camera system goes,
The pros appear to be that finally Sony has decided to actually put some real work into the panorama mode (a case of better late than never), the corner softness issue is finally fixed (this is one of those 'once seen cannot be unseen' issues on the XZ), and there appear to be general improvements to overall image processing.
Well done Sony here.
There are still cons apparently though, first is the continued and baffling decision to separate ISO control from the rest of the maual controls and stick it into to a separate settings menu (would really like Sony to try and explain the logic behind that decision). Secondly, the max setting of 1 second for the shutter speed is not really practical, its too short to really be useful from a creative stand point, yet too long for 'reliable' handheld shooting. The preset white balance options are next to useless as well, would it really be that difficult to put a Kelvin scale slider control in there?!?!
Third, this whole 960fps thing appears nothing more than a test gimmick to me, anything going fast enough to warrant being slowed down that much is going to be very tricky to capture reliably when the window is just 0.18 seconds, give me the pixel/S8/iPhone way of doing slo-mo any day, it might not be anywhere near as slow, but the capture process has much more of a predictable control element.
Overall I think there is more good than bad though, the XZP appears to be a general improvement where camera is concerned (always an Xperia's Achilles heal in my experience) will just wait to see if there are the usual 'over-heating' issues when using the more intensive camera features now, hopefully there are none.
Considering the fact that this phone has 8 Million pixels to light up with a small battery for the standard 5.5" smartphone, i'm generally impressed with the battery life. Sony is coming back with it's battery life A-game.(Check the XA1, 2300mAh gets 72h endurance rating)
