Jesse Clark, 13 May 2017So if you aren't watching 4k videos, your phone is just full HD all the time?? I mean really S... moreYou do know that in those small screens there is no difference between 1080p and QHD, right? I mean you have to get close than 20cm to see any difference but at that distance you get cross eyed anyway so it's not practical and nobody does it.
Also S8 is not a real QHD+. Due to the subpixel rendering you actually get the sharpness of a ~1300p screen.
Lastly this phone's screen is 4k in fact so you don't actually lose any smoothness in the image due to the lower resolution.
But I agree with you. 4k for movies is I'll adviced. It should have been 1080p there too, the difference is too small to matter. They should had enabled 4k during VR and VR alone ... Nowhere else does it make any sense. As always Sony messed that part once again...
The only thing which resist me for buying this phone is screen
Even i can't able to use it as a qhd for MY normal uses i have to be with 1080p only
If this is done that i can use whd res. In it for normal use then i am one step closer in getting this phone.
Bunyip22, 13 May 2017Screens can be a personal choice. Personally AMOLEDS are a lot nicer than LCD screens. I hate ... moreSamsung bot. The low light isn't that bad to begin with. The pictures looks accurate than the galaxy s shit. The s8 camera took fake colours so your argument is not valid. You just mad because Sony did better than samdung. Even GSM arena praises th screen and camera haha. BTW amoled has radioactive colours while the xz premium has natural colours
Sei Sohai, 13 May 2017No one cares about Sony anymore.
What a joke! No fingerprint scanner? Huge bezels with a scr... moreWhat about 68% STB Ratio?
Is the phone becoming unusable with that?
No fingerprint reader because of a contract - did you research before saying that?
Quit business. Just because they don't sell well doesn't mean they must quit it. Besides they are just starting to play better and better
Jesse Clark, 13 May 2017So if you aren't watching 4k videos, your phone is just full HD all the time?? I mean really S... more2K?
Are there any content made in that resolution?
It's the 807ppi that makes your screen sharper. S8/S8+'s 2K screen would look inferior to the XZ Premium in 1080p because the 807 pixels are still lighted up and makes the screen super sharp
,this is the best phone in 2017,the most innovative phone ever create to date,so hater just admit it,and dont make silly excuse
Screens can be a personal choice. Personally AMOLEDS are a lot nicer than LCD screens. I hate blacks that look show light at night.
In relation to low light camera performance. The S8 kicks the XZP... you can't argue against these GSMa photos.
no finger print on these models in usa! r u kidding me? those bezels? common...!
VoloKin Project, 13 May 2017Delivered what? Sub-par screen, bad battery life, quiet speakers and Premium price tag.Take engineering major, and then come back to complain.
Cassy O, 13 May 2017Pathetic display! Galaxy S8 is the clear winner here, the best smartphone display!Such hypocrisy! Knowing your Samsung also runs in 1080p by defaults
Cassy O, 13 May 2017Pathetic display! Galaxy S8 is the clear winner here, the best smartphone display! You mean that Red tint display? Lol, Samsung paid Displaymate to claim that their display is the best. How can the best display have a washed out red that look like orange. What a joke.
Delivered what? Sub-par screen, bad battery life, quiet speakers and Premium price tag.
Galaxy S8 is the clear winner here, the best smartphone display!
Bunyip22, 13 May 2017Sorry Sony but that low light camera performance is just terrible for a 2017 high end phone.
... moreVery disappointing photos in low light. They even had to use a tripod to make the shots look better.
I bet they don't use tripods in other phone reviews. Other than the 960 per second slow Mo. The galaxy s8 camera is way better.
jesseMac, 13 May 2017scared this thing will kill S8 sales hahahaGood joke. I actually laughed at it
Kobainez, 13 May 2017Normal people don't take too many low light pictures. If you want a good quality picture go ge... moreYou need to have a look at the link i posted to see the S8+ performance.
Camera phones will never be SLR quality but the S8+ is so far ahead in low light it isn't funny.
Low light doesn't mean night time or dark room, it is taken at 28 lux which could be indoors on an overcast day. 20 lux is twilight with street lights on. Plenty of people use their phones at concerts, restaurants etc which are not even that bright.
I have a DSLR but my phone is always with me which is why low light performance is critical to me.
