Sonu4678, 20 May 2017It was really surprising to hear a stereo speaker losing out to mono speakers. What are you do... moreXperia have always been like that. Even my Z2.. With stereo speakers it's one among the quietest phone speakers I have come across. They best from Sony was back in the W310 ?!
Those tripod low light pics of xzp are awesome if it had ois I am sure it would destroy s8 in handheld anyways nice review
As much as i wished to see Sony on top of this comparison, i must admin Samsung gets the first place in allmost every category with either LG or Sony beeing close, but not equal.
I'm a bit dissapointed on Sony, which i didn't expect to have the best camera, wasn't that far behind either, but at least i hoped to have the best display and sound with that stereo speakers. Seems not.
I'm surpised on LG which i thought it will be a match for Samsung, specially on the camera side, but overall seemed to me it was surpassed even by Sony, except maybe on low light.
Nevertheless Samsung is still not attractive to me and will never be. Can't stand the thought that everyone has a Samsung. Nothing special, nothing unique to standout. It's just a brand to popular, and i don't want to be one amongst many to have one.
For now i'll stick to my P9
Sonu4678, 20 May 2017It was really surprising to hear a stereo speaker losing out to mono speakers. What are you do... moreLike I said, loudness does not mean it produces a clear, true sound. Philosophicaly speaking, if you are noisy, then you miss the point.
Sony fans must be in pain. It's *blown out*.
It's always a good day when the truth reveals itself.
The best cameraphone 2017 is sony xz premium. The best cameraphone automatic mode g6, galaxy 8, ecc ecc
Why do the phone images of the XZ all seem a matt, non-shiny, dull charcoal colour? What happened to the piano-black finish...? Are you using a polarising filter for the device shots?
What can we learn from the low-light tripod photos? If Sony Xperia XZ Premium's cameras would have a brighter f1.7 aperture and OIS it would destroy S8's and G6's, but sadly neither the front or the back have and...falls behind S8.
It was really surprising to hear a stereo speaker losing out to mono speakers. What are you doing Sony? That was one of the few distinguishing features for them smh.
RaghavaZ, 20 May 2017Having stereo speakers and still losing to S8 in audio quality and loudness, wow i don't know ... moreLoudness does not mean it produces a clear sound. Sony has a quite sound, but it produces a clear sound, true sound.
Having stereo speakers and still losing to S8 in audio quality and loudness, wow i don't know why they are in the XZP in the first place. If you can't make them at least as loud as a single mono speaker of S8, Sony please remove those and reduce those bezels by atleast a few mm or make them louder. "Unfortunately, more speakers doesn't mean more bang - the Premium is also the quietest." and GSMA advised to pick a right tone to be heard. Well XZP looks taller than both the phones which doesn't look as good as the other two. With the XZP tied with S8 on many categories, it failed in design category, if that isn't the case then Sony would have got a bigger hit than what XZP can achieve. No need for Sony to adopt weird aspect ratios just reduce those bulky bezels around the screen and you will get a better design. Sony must reduce those bezels as those so called stereo speakers can't even beat a mono speaker in loudness and audio quality.
Gsmarena is just being overkind in those ties, but reading the description shows that it agreed S8 is the best. So S8 won in almost everyone to be the best smartphone.
Maybe this difference is made because of the dropping procedure, but dropping procedure is kinda the only one that can make it fair when comparing different resolutions.
I also believe that in daylight conditions, the flagships after 2016 are all so equal that the difference doesn't matter, with Samsung winning in low light light conditions and making the difference.
Having said all that I am shocked to see such blurry pics from the LG and Sony. Blurry man, just look at the details, forget colors and everything than can be calibrated, even in picture 2, if you look at the pattern, you will Sony that both LG and Sony display the portrait with vertical blue and red lines!
Sony still the only phone with noise canceling built-in. Now that hTc is adding it on the 11, it would be great to have a shootout. Love the noise canceling, makes up and surpasses the others even with the lower volume. Sony should be in the lead, but with removing so many features (fm, best battery, mhl, screen record, lanyard, magnetic charger etc) not sure what phone to get next, looks like I'll wait.
XZ Prem handheld auto shots indeed look great, just as the other two.
And that graphic performance bench are just... superb.
The S8 seems to win the most in this review and sometimes it feels like the review is pulling it's punches to be kind to Sony. The G6 is always either a close second or involved in a tie, hence it doesn't seem to feature much as an outright winner, which looks like a disadvantage when actually it is a pretty good all-rounder.
But in my eyes, all these 3 phones are superb. I hope their successor's won't ditch the 3.5 mm headphone jack (unlike some rivals, I'm looking at you HTC), keep the good stuff like innovative cameras, wonderful screens and hardware and also bring back FM Radio & IR blaster (and maybe the removable battery?!)
