Xperia craz, 23 May 2017Not fair
I think Sony Xperia xzPremium is not a looserXzp won the camera in low light and night and video record.
Why gsmarene didn't include FP scanner speed test!
I bought an S8 last week, and out of the box, it was faulty! When I make a call, the receiver of the call hear a lot of noise in the call. So much so for Samsung improved quality control after the Note 7 debacle. They are still not doing a good quality control. Very disappointed with Samsung experience. Also with other Samsung devices, once you update the software, it will slow down and make it unusable, so your only course of action is to buy a new device. It happens to my Note Tab and other previous Samsung smartphones. S8 will be my last Samsung device...
Will buy the Xperia XZ Premium Dual in Luminous Chrome once it comes out in the stores...
ss, 23 May 2017I absolutely disagree with you. Just see the phone arena and look the quality of G6 camera. It... moreG5 has more detail and often times better post processing. G6 has better night shots, bit not always. IMO it's a wash.
Where G6 absolutely loses is the basically smaller screen (less wide in portrait, weird aspect ratio) despite the larger size of the device. The far worse battery life (can't carry a spare anymore), the same hardware (SD821 vs SD820 ... basically the same).
It's a clear step back. I'm sorry for your purchase.
Anonymous, 22 May 2017Still LG G5 is the best cameraphone and best smartphone overall. Best cameraphone, because ... moreI absolutely disagree with you. Just see the phone arena and look the quality of G6 camera. It is one of the best. I have it.
[deleted post]That's definitely not the solution and most possibly the reason why those 3 have stopped trying.
People buying what they love instead of what's best for them bescially stilts competition to a still. That means that we get much of the same for many years in a row ... Maybe forever.
See S8 for example. It's a taller, weaker S7E (literally) yet Samsung produced it knowing that people will buy it anyway because people buy brand over "worth".
Similar with this Sony. Sony in phones is not even that popular (for a good reason) yet they produced this throwback of a phone knwoning that people will buy it anyway.
In short having blind preferences kills the world. The world can become a better place starting with you. *Try* to be buying from a different brand each time, that's a good start in building a better world.
Phones are supremely important the prime tool of modern people. We identify with out techn since the stone age, so it's not a small thing to actually have good phones instead of being filled with devices created for fans alone...
Ciro123, 23 May 2017Xz premium destroy s8YES YES :)
XZ Premium is the BEST!! ; )
Jesse Clark, 21 May 2017What about S8's always on 3D touch home button. It can be clicked or double tapped to wake up ... moreAndroid is basically has Smart Lock feature. I just try to tell Mr. Vaio Agent that double-tap to wake or other unlock method mentioned is not exclusively LG feature.

Nobrandfan, 22 May 2017I like all three phones (and the HTC U11 and Xiaomi Mi Mix), but each option has some issues. ... moreI have used Unlocked internatonal Xperia Premium and XZ with ATT. No issues at all. Fingerprint and all features work like a charm. Infact, it is better then using an ATT or Verizon branded devices. Its totally free of all bloatware and the updates are super quick.
The best thing i like about Sony is the Software and Battery stability even after years of use, and super fast security updates which is very important for me as i am in media and security business.
Nobrandfan, 22 May 2017I like all three phones (and the HTC U11 and Xiaomi Mi Mix), but each option has some issues. ... moreOh you mean work as in simply day-to-day operation.. I would have said perfectly, no sweat, as I've never had any issues when visiting the US. But if you had some issues with a Z5 then maybe you are doing things I'm not...
Nobrandfan, 22 May 2017I like all three phones (and the HTC U11 and Xiaomi Mi Mix), but each option has some issues. ... moreIf you're talking about flashing firmware to activate the fingerprint reader, you don't need to unlock anything. Different region firmware installs right on top with no rooting or unlocking needed.
If you're simply talking about bringing or shipping one from Europe, I -believe- they're covered globally regardless, but I'm not sure.
People keep saying that the weird aspect ratios of the G6 and S8 mean that the actual usable area is less than we'd get from a 16:9; but what actually --are-- those usable areas (edge drop-off and the like considered too, hard to calculate that without the phone in-hand..) compared to the XZP?
Anonymous , 22 May 2017Youtube is more credible, because you can see what they are doing.Yeah, just like you can 'see' what a magician is doing. It's all bs. Rather trust gsma than fly by night youtubers.
The drop test will make slimmer bezel shame, that's why no drop test for 2017, hahaha...
BigDaddy99, 22 May 2017Don't trust youtube...boy!Youtube is more credible, because you can see what they are doing.
I like all three phones (and the HTC U11 and Xiaomi Mi Mix), but each option has some issues. Here are my concerns about the phones:
1. Samsung phones historically have had two issues that only arise over time, software slow down and battery degradation. Have these issues been resolved with the s8 line?
2. Just how fast will the 821 chipset become antiquated?
3. How well will an unlocked international Sony work on AT&T in the US? I had a z5 premium that worked, but never as well as my Galaxy Note 2.
