is this phone better then 5610?

Regarding the restarts, upgrade to the latest fimware. This will solve the problem partly. The upcoming firmware is gonna bring huge (i mean huge) changes so wait for it guys. This phone is much faster than n73,n80,n70,n72,3250,and other older symbian phone. Technically this phone is as good as n81. And guys ngage2 asphalt 3 demo runs flawlessly in nokia 5700. Gr8 job nokia.

Hey guys, just a quick question regarding the T9 predictive txt on this phone... is there a quick way to insert smileys into an sms message? Like a Sony Ericsson phone would be to press the number 1 quickly 2-3 times in succession (or was it the number 0? I forget...I'm using a QWERTY you see...)

And does this phone have emoticons you can use? :) please reply, thanks in advance! :D

i respect ur comments if they are true ...

but are u sure it restarts after listening to music for one hour that i cant agree with cuz i listen to music 5 hours some days during my 3dmax & maya class periods i listen to music till i go home i never turn it off ... but it never restarts it plays music very smoothly nothing happens like sudden restarts ...

of course it heats up on the back but not that much ... u cant boil eggs in it ... (this phone is like a pc with a processor and ram inside it ...) i see it in many phones ... but it never restarts due to that reason ... i dont mean it has never been restarted it had been restarted about two days out of two weeks its a symbian phone so restarts are common ...

im using the twisting base many times a day and its being almost more than 4 or 5 months since i brought this phone the twisting base never got loosen up ... its still working perfectly ...

i think the rubber cover for the charging port usb port etc. is a great invention it keeps the dust away from those ports ... and only the needed headset input can be seen outside ... nokia had done a good job on it ...

i think nokia had done a great job making this phone the thing nokia wanted is to provide a good quality fast & balanced music and symbian capability phone i think they have been successful in it ...

Hello,to all...well this is the second time i am writing in gsm...i have been in this very old problem using nokia 5700 for 1month now..but whenevr i try some good fast operation it just restarts.. plz trult to every1...who can read all dis n understand this plz can u help me out.. n other thing is nokia5610 gud phone..operation is no doubt gud..loudness though low.. but ppl..who have seen used both the phones.. can u plz suggest..i am into clarity,battery n sound...plz.plz.plz.ppl do answer me...n if u cud mail me its livepd@gmail.com

i had this phone for almost 6 months now and it doesnt satisfy me when it comes to listening to music but it when it comes to surfing the net or using 2 or more program\games at the same time it doesnt fail... this phone has its downs and ups...
the bad things are:
-it often restarts, when you listen to music for more than an hour, like i do, it starts to heat up (even less than an hour) and when it reaches the maximum temperature it restarts, using music player with other program also makes the phone very hot, not only that, after it restarts sometimes it cant read the sim card, the phone heats up also by using the bluetooth for a long time which also result to restating, and sometimes out of no reason it restart due to a very hot environment.
-after twisting the keyboard to much it became loose, of course one of the greatest feature of this phone is its twisting keypad, i enjoy twisting this phone because i can go to the music player or camera at just one twist but after a couple of months i can feel that it became loose, of course i know that i will happen but i didnt expect it to happen that fast
-of course as we all know the battery doesnt last too long that means we need to charge it more often that means opening the rubber cap, after almost four months of using this phone i noticed that the rubber cap is already deformed, i really thought that this rubber cap is a good idea because it makes the phone really clean by hiding the threee holes but after all its just better off without it
-the camera lens eats alot of dust, i mean the package doesnt contain anything to clean this phone and when the dusts starts to pile up in the camera lens its almost impossible to clean unlike other camera phone that you can easily clean the lens in case there are dust in it

the good things thou:
-very fast phone it process everything in just secs. plus opening different programs at the same time will never ever give problem coz this phone doesnt know how to slow down
-best browser ever, anyone who loves to surf the net will love this phone surely, its even better than other n-series phone

Hi...Thanx to the team of GsmArena for their amazing riviews.. i personally enjoyed since i been using nokia 5700 for around 2weeks.. but i don't know i have started facing a probs all of a sudden..it either gets restarted if i quickly change into menus..or the cancel button like a ghost automatically starts working.. creating hell lot probs for me.. i really want some help..plz do answer me :( :(

if you're music focused, then 5700 is for you, but if you also want great camera (I mean, the best 2mp camera ever) then W810 is a must no doubts :) been very disappointed with nokia cameras eversince N90 came, but their past flagship camera-focused 6630 takes great 1.3mp pics before :(

I recommend to buy Nokia 5700, it's the best phone with 16 million colours, very nice speaker quality and very fast processor with a nice price ;)

Today I just bought my amazing 5700 Nokia. When I was buying this set everyone said to me set is not good battery is not upto the mark joystick is very awkward message sending is on the slow side etc.etc. But when I got my hands on this baby and Started playing with it i straight away fall in love with it. I used N73 music addition and N95 but 5700 got his own class. Software is lightning fast every option responds in 0.0135 seconds. Can handle multiple queries smoothly. Display is mindblowing. Camera quality is at par with N73 in daylite not very attractive when inside or at night. Handfree gives in a soothing feeling to your ears. All in all this is the best mobile I used so far. Nokia is about to give hard time to SE in this dept. All the best for upcoming Nokia. Cheers to everyone

what is that GPS application in 5700? as it launches bluetooth when it is opened?

there is no pencil key.... but you have the # key which replaces this key.
it does the same functions... marks and unmarks, copies and pastes, etc.

my prob with this phone is turning it off for a long time will make the calendar stop working. sure, the time will continue to move, but you're still on the same date and day.
i'm not sure of this goes with other phone or not.

Can someone tell me the latest firmware, COZ I heard the phone restart often in 3.23... becoz i wanna to buy one really soon, next months can someone may be !!!!

tell me the goods firmware to buys, if u used that phone, i can do mine also ... i known no mobile is perfect 100% thank mates

i just bought that set after 3250 ... i am a nokia and symbian fan .. the sound is little less then 3250 but better in quqlity ... its hell faster then 3250 but sending msgs are quite slow ... and battery time is not as much as you like ... the next firmwere upgrade should give more options in the equlizer and increase a sound a bit ... coz you can't even hear the sound in crowded areas ... speacially the msg tones ... but over all ... the set is living up to expectatios ...
