> In reply to khan @ 2008-09-24 21:27 from v$Ck - click to readThe camera is desapointing, the flash not works all the time as is suposed to perform, and the touchscreens buttons, alwalys after you finish a call, are activated by the ears and you are sending without realize a sms to the contact number one in your list of contacts. Beside all that, is a great telephone, practical, with great multimedia capacities.

hey, I was the user of SE K850i and have found it to be a lovely phone.. especially the camera. But I've broke it recently and am planning to buy a new phone. Whats the recommendation here? (what phone out there has compatible camera)?

SonyEricsson is amongst the best phone manufacturer in the world, not because it has the best phones,or the smartest ones, but because every phone they create is usefull and precisely intended for a specific class of buyers. Some will say that SE phones do a lot off things, but they don't do them very well(FALSE!!!)if you have a K-series SE you are certain that youre photos have an exceptional quality(FOR A MOBILE PHONE AND EVEN FOR SOME DIGI_CAMS),a W-series is created for listening music(IT DOES THE JOB PERFECTLY,I THINK IT CAN EASILY BE COMPARED TO I-POD,IT'S UP THERE),the T-series SE are multi purpose mobile phones, they do everything, but only at an acceptable stage, the main purpose is TALKING!!!,the Z-series are clamshell phones for ladies and school girls, the P-series are business executive phones, the rest of SE phones are not so important. This is my personal opinion and I own now a SE K850i,in the past I had had ALLMOST all the K-series(K500,K700,K510,K750,K550,K800),I had hundreds of phones, and I think that SE is the best.I bought my k850 after using NOKIA(n95 8g,6300,6500classic,5300),MOTOROLA(v3i,z8),SAMSUNG(D600,D900),LG(chokolatem,all shine),I-phone(beautifull but stupid)

BUY IT(REALLY GOOD AND SIMPLE PHONE)

> In reply to khan @ 2008-09-24 21:27 from v$Ck - click to readno, don't get this phone, it's the worst and most problematic k series phone i ever had. all my previous k series phones worked fine except this particular model. have sent in thrice for repair during this 10-month of usage. in fact on the second day of my purchase, i already have to send it in for a one-to-one exchange due to the ringing problem, ie it doesn't produce any sound when it is ringing... next major problem is the lcd whereby the screen will go blackout whenever certain keys are pressed. having to stand under very strong sunlight or torchlight to see just a faint view of the screen.

as for the after-sale service, it sucks big time. my phone was scratched and i complained on the spot to the customer service when collecting my phone back from repair. but i was told that i scratched the phone myself! that's just simply ridiculous cos they have made very thorough check in front of me and made sure of the condition prior to repair and there wasn't any scratch at all...

simply put, don't buy this phone!

Am using K850i since last 6 months and there is a major display problem (no display at all) Phone works in background.Have given in authorised service centre but now it is more than 12 days. Am getting only one reply i.e. "pending for parts"

I didnot know Sony Ericsson has such 3rd grade after sales service. And to top it off no standby Handset was given.

Anyone thinking of going for any sony Ericsson products should be discouraged.

Please Please Please, Save yourself of all the trouble by not buying one of these. I have been using a K850i for 12 months now and my 4th replacement handset has just broken, again!
Nice features of the phone but generally runs slowl and crashes a lot and from my experience needs replacing with a new/replacement handset every 2-3months. All the problems were still occuring with this phone even after several firmware updates from sony ericcson's website.

> In reply to haizzz @ 2008-08-10 15:55 from ibhb - click to readAccording to my knowledge K850 good more that N73. When your using a phone in "K" series you cant get good sound quility but you can get photos nicely more than a digital camera. If you want to listen music you have to ger a sony ericssin "W" Series.

Thanks

i also get dark pictures (almost 50%) from all my shots. I tried to find any plastic cover over the lense but could not find any. Would someone help me fix this problem? Thanks!

The phone was impressive upon first buying it, but then it really became extremely disappointing.
This is my 5th month using it and I've already master-reset it four times, losing all my sms messages among others in the process.
When my battery dies and I start recharging it, the phone starts giving me errors and I lose access to my messages & applications and have to master-reset it. Sometimes it just happens.. It freezes and won't restart and then suddenly restarts itself and I can no longer access my messages.
I'm severely disappointed with this phone, and finally decided to buy another phone. I don't even know if I can trust SE after this rather miserable experience.
