Motorola RAZR2 V8 review: New edge to RAZR - read the full textAfter three long years of waiting we face the RAZR V3 successor: the slim and refined Motorola RAZR2 V8. Sporting a full metal jacket with gradating hues of dark pearl gray, the phone is made to impress. With two high-quality displays with QVGA ...

i have a V8 and yes the back plate materal is pealing off so what i did is to take the battery cover off and dip it in hot water and that paint like finish just drops off to reveal a nicer crome finish. so you can try it

A love hate relationship.
At first you will be impressed with some of the features. The slim design and the large screen is a big hit. The large numbers on the key pad are simply priceless. I have owned Motorola flip cover phones like this one but all cracked at the hinge point. This one is no exeption. I will crack too just like all other Motorola flip cover phones. Don't be confused by the claims of "metal casing". The only metal cover on this phone is the back side battery cover.
I tried to give Motorola one more chance but I am completely dissapointed with this phone showing the exact same weakness in contruction as previous Motorola models. I am moving back to non-flip cover phones. Motorola move away from the flip phones!

I have had Motorola for 25 years. With this V8 I have had 4 handsets within 10 days! The same fault, they went with the wrong bluetooth configuration. No more for me. Orange are letting me pick anything else now. Motorola error was in not accepting bluetooth standardization and making it 3 minute discoverable. RAZR2 V8 NO WAY

> In reply to bonzai @ 2008-05-02 09:45 from PN8jHi "bonzai"

Do you own a V8? Or Do you just want opinion/s?

Anyway...,,, here's my opinion:
I'm only 11 when I own a V8...
At first I was very impressed and i was really exited to
hold my Very special V8...then after several months I was
now very dizzzappointed about the look of my V8 it's battery
cover is peeling it started just last 2or3 months.. and the usb
/charger etc. cover was already broken... I tried to fix it with
scotch tape but it's stillll... ahhhhhhhhhrrrrhhhhhh.

If you want
to see more of my opinions look at the V8 opinions to see nearly 1500 opinionss... I'm already 12... and i still was
disappointed about the lookzzz of my V8 but it has very good features...

Fact=If your gonna buy a V8 think about it first...
V8 does not have a timer and a stopwatch feature
this is my first Motorola,Megapixel Phone,Less then 13cm
thick phone and my first flip phone...
But I dont mind that...I also think that the RAZR2 series
does not have the 2 features....

I almost forgot the sensitive keys of the V8 420mb,2gb,lux
can be only used whenever you play music.
Not like the RAZR2 V9 you can always use them whenever you
want...

=====Wish this would help you:)=====

hi - the reviewer mentioned that itap is much more user-friendly than t9 when it comes to texting.

as i've never used a motorola b4, i just wanted other user's opinions on texting with the v8.

To all of those who usually criticize Motorola for being feature-lacking: Motorola is a dedicated Fashion phone manufacturer, so quality, design and the basics come first as always. No need to worry though, the true monster Moto's will hit the shelves later this year.

Hi i was looking at this phone but can't believe it is not 3G. I used to have the v3x and that was 3g enabled are there any other decent sexy looking clamshell phones like this that offer 3G video calling??

i hate moto before, bcos not user friendly enough
then i used nokia and se
but when i saw e2 with the linux system
it changed my view to the moto
i bought an e2
and right now also bought v8 2gb
actually it can install program called MPKG which usually free that custom made by linux user
i have benifited a lot when i using the e2
and bcos v8 using the linux java as well
i know they will be much more mpkg program that suits with v8
considering v8 have longer life span and much more famous than the e2
why not nokia? bulky and the sounds worst then se
why not se? not much improvement currently compare with last yr...
