Apple iPhone in and out: The next step

Really to me Iphone is just another branded object from apple (i'm a Microsoft lover) but the phone does seem like a very good one but it's already been copied out onto other phones so i don't see the point of buying the original if you can get others just like it for such a cheaper price and usually upgraded specs.

1- Bluetooth incapable to send files
2- When recieving a call in standby mode, no REJECT option that appears, only SLIDE TO ANSWER
3- While writing a message then pressing home button, what u've wrote is just evaporated
4- Speaker is just too weak, a shame for such device
5- The uploaded pics in PHOTOS are transformed from high resolution to low
6- No Hotmail as an option

in spite of your useful article, does the safari browser support flash? thats a major drawback if you are going to use the iphone to surf as most of the sites that we view today are all built in flash.

Well, no doubt that iPhone is a big success in the states but in the United Kingdom the sales of this hyped products is not a success yet.
Please feel free to read my further comments on why iPhone is not a success in Europe:

Go into any o2shop and they will gladly show you what the iPhone has offer
specs on paper mean nothing ! The phone is just awesome its fun ,easy to use .
my god I'm so stressed out listening to the utter tosh that's spouted on all mobile sites .
I work for a mobile network and can honestly say that the iPhone is the best phone I've ever used
it makes the n95etc look truly stone age

I guess to everything there are pros and cons, the iphone is cool but there are many mishaps, surely for a phone that is so expensive one doesn't expect to go through those hassels.I am disappointed with the features, I thought with all the raves this phone would have countless features. The most upsetting thing about the iphone is that out of the blue at times if freezes,I've tried resetting the phone but nothing happens.

the more I read and research on it, the more I find it lacking in functionalities compared to the HTC touch. yes it has a great finger workings, but no bluetooh stereo, no SMS forwarding, restrictions to specific carriers, have to wait till early next year to get other applications to work on it, not surprising if someone else comes up with a iphone alternative (killer is too ambitious a word) without the restrictions. I'll live with my touch for now.

I have been waiting for the iphone for a few months now and i was unsure of whether it would hold up against my n95 ,after a weeeks use i can honestly say it does ! there are a lot of people moaning saying it doesn't have this or that but to be honest you forget its short falls after the first 5 mins because its a pleasure to use , the texting takes about a day to get right but then your flying, the ipod is second to none , the internet is wonderfully intuitive to use and the youtube app is the iceing on the cake the camera is ok and the amazing screen compensates its low 2mp sensor, but what serious photographer uses a phones camera anyway?
i for one applaud apple for bring out a phone that shows the big guns how a operating system should work!
and the build quality is very high (not plastic)(n95)
the iphone may not be cheap or have a 5mp camera (big deal)
, but it is awesome and makes you want to pick it up and use it ,
my only negative towards the whole thing is the cost of stuff on the uk version of itunes!
buy this product with confidence
love it!

there are many articles on iPhone applicaitons on the internet but this one is outstanding. It explains each and everything in a simple way even for novice users. I have an iPhone in India and I am thrilled after reading this article.

The guys here don't say it but the little flare at the bottom of all their screen shots is from a nifty app called dock, it's available in the app installer. It lets you launch any app from any different app and lets you take screen shots.

Coming from someone who actually owns one: the iPhone is nice. Sure, it doesn't have GPS, A2DP, etc, etc. There's enough reviews that cover what's missing from the iPhone, if you need those then it's not for you, 'nuf said.
OTOH, if you want a nicely polished product which is a real treat to just use, as a phone, as an organiser and as a mobile Internet access device, then this is probably one of the better option out there. All too often we see companies ticking off a plethora of boxes on paper, while design fall by the wayside ... the iPhone is nicely balanced in between form and function, imo.

The article states "... the device will cost 1.4 times more ..." here than in the US. Doing a quick check, this appears to be using the UK price versus the US price, ignoring the fact that the UK price includes tax while the US price does not.
UK price with tax: £269
UK price before taxes: £229
USD equivalent: $474
So the UK price is just under 1.2 times the price. Ok, not a huge diff, but a little less scary than 1.4. :)

@ unknown,
Why is the iPhone worse for the environment than any other phone?! I did read the article, but I bet that if Greenpeace would analyze all the phones coming out of China they'd suffer a nervous-breakdown.
Nokia is a European manufacturer and hence has to obey strict European guidelines which may not apply to US and Chinese manufacturers.
