Can anybody tell about the build quality and the sliding mechanism of the phone? Is it good?

I just got this phone 2 days ago. I like the havana brown color! But I find the keypads very hard and not ergonomic at all, esp when keying in the "space" button (lower right corner key). I simply love the big screen too! I call this the "mini-tv" phone!:)

i just got dis fone 2 wks ago n i found dat its great even though gives me probs like lagging,hang-once in blu moon but to tell frankly All d fones gonna give dis kinda probs! wat u gotta do is to upgrade or reboot dat fella n probs are solves! u wont gonna have your perfect fone forever xcept for ur house fone! u wont be using dis fone for ten over yrs... u will change to another fone or next latest model whichever catches ur eyes! so my advice, overcome d probs, bring back to d dealers since they provide warranty before a year, use d privillage given. bet ya u gonna be happy n fell in love with dat fella!
Thanxxxs yo!

Dear Desperate
It does not have a 3.5mm jack, but you'll get an adapter with you headset. Looks really smart.

Minimize, yes you can.

hard to press the w-button? Try it out in a store if your so concerned about this...

Just got this phone, had a SE k800i before. Been using it for about 1 week now and sad to say i'm returning it to orange for a different model. Probably the K850i ugly mini brick. Had loads of phones in the past, nokia's, motorola's, sony ericsson's & a samsung. Always seem to come back to sony ericssons though!

Compared to my previous k800i i make the following judgements...

Pro's

- Gorgeous phone, looks great, lightweight

- Great screen, nice slide mechanism

- Small and compact

- Packed with loads of useful features

- Comes with 1GB memory card

Con's

- Camera is terrible, no flash, no autofocus.(i know it's primarily a walkman phone but the camera is awful)

- Internal speaker that plays your ringtones and music is awfull compared to my old phone! this is probably because its so compact.

- When making a call it is rather quiet and tinny even on it's loudest setting.

- Pretty slow when browsing through music and playing

- Vibrate function is barely noticable

- It keeps locking up or restarting itself at least twice a day. Firmware update didn't solve the issue. Black screen, red light do a search on google to find the hundreds of other people out there who have the same problem.

Conclusion
If you like a snazzy looking phone that will impress your mates and play tunes get this phone. If you want a phone that is reliable and does all the things a should do well... dont buy this phone.

Yes it is a good phone. But I don't know SE didn't include WLAN and a good camera with QVGA @30 FPS video recording. In this area Nokia is N95 8GB is best.
