Nokia N95 8GB review: Return of the king - read the full textAbout a year ago Nokia released a tech-freak's dream of a handset offering a mouthwatering horde of features in a fairly compact size. The omnipresent N95 spawned a successor and now the question is how much better can it get. Nokia N95 8GB sure has good...

i don't know but my n95 shoots very noise pictures also saturation is too high, viewty and n95 are worst in picture quality so guys from gsmarena are maybe paid by nokia for positive review cos even g600 easy beats nokia in this segment,n95 is so far from good photomobile and can't compete to phones such as samy or se

Having gone thru the features list, you are impressed but following considerations stand out,
a) why has nokia developed handsets in the sequential development way rather than a ground-breaking effort way? N95 8gb followed N95, N82, N81 etc etc with very little separating these handsets. A ground breaking achievement wuld have been to combine touch screen capability with features on the n95 8gb (especially considering the hefty price tag) with a new OS but somewhere nokia has lost 'touch' with market development (touch screen phones are made by almost EVERY major mobile manufacturer today)

b) n95 8gb is the 'flagship' nokia model but it lacks small things like a memeory slot, third party GPS apps compatibility and gaming keys. Although nokia tries to differentiate handsets with similar feature sets in this way, they can incorporate all features in atleast ONE 'complete' handset!!

c) why are symbian OS upgrades not applicable to older handsets, while all windows upgrades can be easily applied to earlier versions? By this NOkia is basically asking us to keep buying newer (and more expensive) handsets if we want to upgrade our phone functionality for the same hardware. Given we are close to 'peak' hardware (basically little more in terms of hardware can be added to phones for the near future), this becomes even more relevant.

I think that Nokia N95 8GB is the best mobile phone i have ever seen. Its technical characteristics are more then impressive. But one thing borders me, its to high price. It could be a little lower, but everything else is just fascinating.

seriously why cant nokia make this powerful handset slim and shiny?

why does it need to be made of cheap looking plastic, brick size and flimsy phone. why? why do we get all of this after ripping us off? and why nokia if we get the good looking phones such as 8800 sirroco, we dont get the features we need? what a shame

Hi guys,

Is this phone using propriety charging or using the USB port? The review here says that the charging doesn't start when USB is connected.

This is my second N series phone.
First one was N72. and this phone is awsome,
The best phone ever made.
The more i am using it,the more i am liking it,
The camera is the best, better than a digicam.

i recommend this to all.

Hi all.I have a N-95 8GB. The phone is working awesome. But i faced a peculiar problem. When i start recording a video using my phone and use the Mass memory then the recording starts skipping or has a pause in b/w. But if a record using the phone memory i dont face any such issues. Anybody has any clue why this is happening. Please help me as i have bought this device thinking it would be flawless

Dear "n95 luvva luvva brot"

When you post a comment on a comment, better make sure you get your facts right.
More megapixels are definitely no guarantee for better quality pictures.
You say people make the pictures to big to put them on their desktop, that's why they lose quality!?? That right there tells me you should do the reading up on pixel facts your self.
Or could you tell me what monitor is out there with more pixels than a 5mp camera??? A 5mp camera has (2592 x 1944 pixels), a 24" monitor has (1920x1200 pixels), even a high end 30" monitor has (2560x1600 pixels), thus less than 5mp.
When you do read up, you'll find the lens is more important than the megapixels, and that is about the only part of your comment that's correct: "The Zeiss lens is just a advertising trick".

A fact is that any real 3mp camera with a light-strong lens is going to beat any phonecamera, no matter how many pixels the phone has.

But all this and in fact your whole post is beside the point of my post.
In my post I was just wondering how people could praise the N95 camera, while the pictures they posted looked so bad.

I now own the N95 8gb, and now I know they must have done something wrong, because it does make very nice pictures (for a phonecamera). (ofcourse it doesn't even come close to my 5mp Olympus C5060.), but for a phone camera it is great.

How my (mis)understanding of megapixels would say anything about my quality as a car salesman, is something you can't read up on, it must be just a brainflaw on your part. ;-)

By the way, I love the N95 8gb. It is the best phone I ever had.

The camera is great and the extra memory is helpful too, when you tape a wrestling match with the mrs if you know what i mean :)
