Nokia 5610 XpressMusic review: Gotta love music - read the full textWe are having the pleasure of a handset that has been designed to meet the highest expectations of music fans. Its other features however are pretty interesting too and will surely appeal to a wider audience. It seems phone manufacturers are head over...

Just go to a nokia customer care and see how many people come with this phone having problems,, that will give you a good view about how crappy the software is.

I have been using this phone for 8 months now.
Pros:
1.camera is pretty decent for the price of the phone. auto-focus works well. flash doesnt help much though.
2.keypad is very easy to use
3.Slider is comfortable too. did not get loose even after 8 months of use.
Cons:
1.Music has a crackling sound when volume increases
2.Freezes a LOT (even though i never install third party applications)
3.camera has too much noise in all pictures
4.Battery life is TERRIBLE
5.THE MAJOR FAULT- the navigation key is of hopeless quality and within a few months it BROKE OFF completely. I had shown it to NOKIA CARE and I had been assured that it will be replaced free of cost since this is a DEFECT IN THIS PHONE MODEL!

So final opinion: There are better models out there..

Sound system only main advantage and other functionality is nothing special....

This is by far the worst phone I have ever owned. I'm not sure who is at fault for my troubles, Nokia or T-Mobile but the phone every 2 minutes crashes or turns off. If i try to do any of the following it freezes: listen to music, view text messages, try and delete anything, restore to factory defaults. No one should consider this phone.

Hi everyone,
when you text message back and forth with the Nokia 5610 do all the messages appear on the same page or you have to keep going into the inbox to see what you received and outbox to see what you sent?
Thanks

this phone is good and it can also store up to thousands of messages. the sounds are nice, as it was said, it has a crystal-clear sound. the camera was very good, however, the flash is just so strong that could make your eyes hurt in a few seconds but, i tell you, this phone is great so go grab it.

> In reply to Best wisher @ 2008-09-22 17:11 from TSLAits knockers like you that give this phone a bad name and a bad reputation. so what if it has those problems at the start, with v8.30 firmware update ALL PROBLEMS ARE FIXED. i bet you don't even have one, you're just knocking it cos you're a smart ass

Dont buy 5610.. its totaly useless phone, wheneve u removes bettery it will first resets your profile. all the settings u made will go away. u will need to do all again. it will hang atleast once a day and yes automatic switch off is the good facility. it will not run any java base application which will use GPRS its tooo bad.. i have list of problems but not be possible to list here. simply i ll say through away ur thoughts from this model.

> In reply to Franxisko @ 2008-09-14 08:32 from P1Lfwith the latest firmware update (v8.30) it takes up to 8gb with no problems/slowdowns. 16gb cards are coming out soon, and i have a feeling that they too will work with the 5610

I too thought this phone had everything. But it doesn't. Regardless of what was quoted it does NOT have proper GPRS. So whilst the sound quality is second to none and the screen is incredible, you cannot use any Java internet dependent programs. Opera mini (even though it's pre installed), Yahoo Go! Google maps, yell.com mobile. None of them work on this phone! Seeing as i use my phone for the internet. This is a seriously bad thing, especially since even inferior models can do this. Ugh!
