Motorola RIZR Z8 review: Slide and bend

@GSMArena:
first you said this:
"Whether you should choose UIQ for your next smartphone is a matter of discussion and according to us the most controversial point of argument should be the touchscreen functionality. We feel that the toll it takes on navigation usability is greater than the added benefit of handwriting recognition, which is the only feature that really can justify the use of a stylus. Somehow, the smartphone platform cannot really use the stylus efficiently as much as PocketPC does and it turns into more of a deterrent since you have to use both your hands to do things you could have easily done with a simple joystick or a D-pad if one was available."
That time you're yelling for the TS presence that you had even said that it shold have been non-TS at all and now you're saying...
"When we eventually made it - and even got the thingy going - it was another disaster. The Z8 doesn't have touchscreen support and the control pad is your only option for working with the application interface. It's kinda irritating to look at icons on the screen and not being able to use them, plus some functions - even essential and irreplaceable ones - are not accessible by way of the control and navigation keys."
What's yhe problem with you guys there... are you a UIQ hater?
anyway as for the lack of softwares for UIQ eventually there is StyleTap a cross platform made for both S60 and UIQ phones which enables them to run most of the available Palm OS apps.

You can only say first second third... wow a talented bunch.
Ok I got excited about this phone back in september when it was released, even went as far to pay 700 for it. It's super nice looking but again, yes texting is difficult especially with the 1 2 and 3 buttons so close to the bottom of the slide, your nails catch the slide. Also you are unable to technically exit a program, they all run in the background cause major ram depletion and often crashes and restarts. Mp3 ringtones... not loud at all even on max volume on my hip case I couldnt hear it in a low noise atmosphere. The battery would also conk out early for some reason... probably the open programs in the background, but even off a start and idle the battery doesnt last longer than 24 hours and would be at full then down to red blinking in a mere hour.
I speak of experience with this phone, it looks super nice I like moto but don't get this one... just pass.
