What is better in N95 8GB (what a name :-O) except the 5Mpx camera. XPeria is light years ahead I think - my next phone. Thank you SE for saving me from the switch to Nokia perspective.

Hi everyone.

I have mixed feelings about this announcement. I think the X1 is amazing and definitely looks the part. But the G700 and G900 disappoint in terms of design and the fact they don't have HSDPA. The Z770i is ok, it is just mid-range after all. The two Cybershots are good and I'm definitely getting to like the C702 even though I hated the spy-shots of it. C902 looks classy, but not so much fashionable apart from the slimness.

In regards to the W980i's name, the W9xx naming is not reserved for smart-phones. Think W900 or W910, which this phone undoubtedly beats on every level. A lot of people think that the numbers pretty much stand for how good a camera it has, but W stands for Walkman and so SE names it according to the music software's advancements over other models. So this has 8GB, external music keys, FM transmitter, etc. Which are all more than any other Walkman phone has had in terms of music playing functionality. So therefore, the W980i name is justifiable. It has nothing to do with the camera, which by the way is still decent, Autofocus is really only needed for close-up shots for which you'd probably buy a Cybershot. :)

Cheers everyone!

Windows Mobile is much better than Symbian! You can play any types of songs and videos you want using the Windows Media Player.Sony Erocsson made such a good decision about choosing Windows Mobile. How about Symbian? Anyway, I'm waiting for the successor of the K850i. i hope it has the same features with C902.

The latest announcement of SE phones has saved me defecting to Nokia or LG. The k850i is a HUGE let down for me, so I'm glad that some of the big issues with it have been addressed in new phones - for one decent keyboards on all of the high end phones.

I think out of them, the c902 is going to be the one for me, especially as it's the one that follows on best the nice sleek black look of the k750i and k800i.

My opnion

G700-Not worth-3.2 NO AFF?? NO WLAN??? Dont we have p1 already at low price
G900-Design not very intresting, plain simple.Features attractive with slim design
C702-Ugly screw at bottom, gps is plus(but most wont need it,wont like it on small screen)
c902-nice design, but 2inch screen is disappointing. And slider mechnism hmm lets see how well does it work
w980-personally i dont like its not very stylish for clamshell unlike razr,i would get w960i instead
x1-We have to wait to see how the stability of windows mobile is with this device and also the price
z770-nothing to comment here

All in all in terms od design

x1,c902 wins the heart

Functionalty wise
g900,

this will be the year of SE, they are one step ahead in the mobile technology, than all the others. all phones look great, except maybe the c702 which is not quite cool looking but it's ok. the w980 looks amazing, the c902, the g900, g700 and the Xperia is fantastic. SE are the best looking phones of the planet. Nokia are making huge and not slim at all phones, they go for big and that's not good nowadays.

Only the C902 and W980 look interesting to me:

The W980 looks very cool, but I wish they didn't call it 'W980'. I thought the "W9xx" series were smartphones. Still though, it looks awesome and probably the best looking SE flip.

The C902 seems to me like the best SE 5mp cameraphone so far. Decent looks and a cool camera slider, looking forward to this one. Let's hope it has better video recording than the embarrasingly bad QVGA 15FPS.

As for the rest...
The C702 looks like the ugliest brick of a phone I have ever seen, especially the blue one. With it's 3.2mp camera you're better off with a K800, which looks a million times better

The G700/G900 look a bit boring I agree...Wifi and a 5mp camera is a big bonus in the G900 but to be honest I would rather have a SE P1i.

The Z770 looks like it only has a 2mp camera again- and as I hardly ever use my phone to look at the internet as it's very expensive. SE need to get out of their silly view that people go on the internet a lot on their phones- not many people do unless they have Wifi (none of my friends do). So I'm not interested in that handset and will still keep my Z710i.

I'm a SE fan, and they could have done better with some of the handsets...but I'm anticipating their full specifications and reviews by GSM arena, of course ;)

I for one am very pleased by the new SE lineup and as hard as it may seem for some people to believe I and a lot of other people I know find that rectangular bar or slide phones are much more attractive and sleek than most of the Nokia's designs with N82 being the most notable exception. Also with the new Xperia SE now has an advantage over Nokia even if it doesn't have a 5MP cam. I have yet to see a Nokia with a touch screen (maybe toady they will announce some new killer touchscreen thou) so for now SE and LG (which lately proved to be be a very innovative design and feature wise) are in the lead in that niche.

At last some Promising mobiles from Sony Ericsson but with the touch screen mobiles, they might look o.k but how strong a reliable will they be as if you scratch or damage the screens your mobile becomes unfunctional they might look good but nowdays theres not as much care for the mobile, lets see what Nokias reaction to these new mobiles being shown now
