> In reply to nishanth @ 2009-01-02 19:07 from vw2dSame thing happened to me 2 days ago to be exactly. I bought G700 for 1 month and a half only.
I asked the SE techinician, they said the touchscreen is defect AND it must be replace along with the front casing.
It's need 2 day repair service...
On my case, it's already back to normal

I am facing a problem in my cell phone Sony Ericsson G700. The problem is that it is showing wrong memory..the phone memory is getting used up day by day as i'm using my cell, whether i listen to songs or i click photographs or use any other application!! There are different areas where the memory is used up in the phone memory like:
Media files
Camera
Messaging
Contacts
Standby etc..
The camera memory is used up when i click photos and with it Stand by memory also fills but when i delete those photographs camera memory becomes zero but Standy still shows the same incremented value!!!
The problem in my cell is that this standby memory fills. I'm not able to figure out where is this memory utilised?? The memory fills up gradually and consequently the whole 160 mb (phone memory) gets exhausted within no time.
Kindly solve this problem...

Got mine twelve days ago(on Friday 30-10-08) and up till today I still dont know how to even make a call. It is a very difficult phone to understand and I am stuck with it for at least two years.Maybe I should exchange it with my son for his Nokia or Samsung phone. I have seen a site which has a video but I am not able to access it.

I bought and I hate it.
Have you ever seen a phone that flashes busy while opening the contact section? The one button unlock is a nightmare as I seem to call many people whilst it's in my bag. Wasn't there a reason why we have a two button process for unlocking phones?!?!?
Oh and as someone says, it's got a torch. That is great but sometimes the button don't light up in the dark when your texting.
Don't buy it.

the screen is small..with the size of the phone, SE could've fit in a 2.6"..touch screen phones should at least have a 2.6" display..

By Introducing low cost phone with operating system and seriously compromising on features like removing wifi and autofocus and big screen, Sony Ericsson is going the Nokia way, to flood market with phones which lack one thing or the another. We wish that SE sticks to its strategy and maintain seperate niche for the smartphones not diluting its bloodline. P series was awsum, no comparison at all!!

Hi guys at GSMArena. thanks for updating your preview and for clarifying things that made some discrepancies as well.\
one more thing G700/G900's camera LED flash can now be used as Torch, like in most SE non-smartphones i.e. W810,K750 etc. this is a features unseen on the earlier UIQ 3 products ;)
and of course G700/G900 based on whitepaper now incorporates Flash Lite v3(Flash version seen on N95 8Gb and N96) so we can now watch youtube movies on UIQ 3.
