Sony Ericsson G900 preview: Touch and go

Big disappointment from this preview. The specs are great, but the execution is lacking. I've been with SE for a long time but, after the horribly plasticky W960 and now this half-arsed job, for my next phone it's looking like I'll jump ship to Samsung's G810

I have a hard time believing that the price will end up being €300. That price would make this phone (and the G700 even more so, providing the price is noticable lower) a great buy and something I would consider buying myself, even though I have a P1i from work.
Can anyone verify the price?

Can anyone verify if the music player included in this phone is the same as the music player found in w960? with the full screen visualizations and all?

just a little tip on the preview...
the sample video is recorded at 15.16fps only. why are you stating that it is 30fps...
the video shows good and bad things both:
good: the video stabilizer is doing so good that the reviewer made a mistake with the framerate!!!
bad: where is the 30fps video recording???

Does anyone have an idea in which month it will arrive? Q2 starts in april and I like this phone.
To compare this one with the N96 or N82 is like comparing a Ferrari with a Volkswagen car. The Ferrari is obviously better, but also costs at least twice as much...

As for the camera those of you that HAVE tested it should also know that the camera functions and quality are not finished yet..read the release notes that came with the sample. for the rest of you.. YOU really think SE would ship final products a full quarter before launch?...
I've seen the final product pics on this baby and it outperformes N82 easily!!
ahh just my $0.02
Cheers

Wow. Nice strategy SE. You put a phone with better ergonomics but less functions in G700, while vice-versa for the G900. Fortunately, I'm one of those consumers who won't fall for your sneaky trap. Try again SE.
PS: This phone is still crap compared to N82. Not being biased, but you can see too much pixels on the full res photo. Plus, no Xenon flash = useless 5MP camera. SE better act fast

Andy Burgin, are you for real...do you think this small 300 euros phone was made to compete with the N96??? ROTFL...genius
About the common look...i think they meant the phone to look completely "normal"...its a powerfull smartphone desguised has a normal phone

Again it looks so bad they dont have any taste in style.
I will never buy a Sony Ericsson phone.
There is a lot in it but a phone has to look good.

Guys,
I'm about to buy P1i until I see this. Now I cant make up my mind whether to continue as plan or wait for this phone to be on the market. Any inputs? Cheers.

I would wait until SE fixes the bugs on this handset. Camera is slow and unreliable. Have had to remove the battery on several occations because the handset freezes.
I still think the w960 and the P1 performs better from a user interface point of view.
