Samsung F700 review: Tap or type

Samsung F700 review: Tap or type - read the full textThe F700 is pretty much where it all began for Samsung and large touchscreens. It was their first mobile phone to feature a three-and-above-inch touchscreen display and while back in the day 3 megapixel autofocus cameras...

If you didn't know, this phone came out not that recently. The review did however. I would rather prefer an HTC in this area because Samsung phones in this niche are more crude as they are still young and not much experimentation has been done. In a year, if Samsung releases a new "touch/qwerty", sure I'll buy it.

Well i had one for a week on Vodafone in the UK and had to send mine back, maybe it doesnt sound that BIG but when its in the hand it feels huge, though i did have a SE W890 beforehand, still compared to the N95 it feels big.

The Texting on the on-screen keyboard is responsive but the delete (C) key is located at the top-right hand corner which inevitably means you end up pressing the number 3 key and adding more letters! not good. The shutter lag on the camera was pretty bad, at around 5 seconds most of my pics were blurred, the AF was slow too.

The best thing i can recommed about this phone is the keyboard, its nice, solid and responsive. i'd suggest seeing this phone before buying it.

I'm not sure why the reviwer kept saying its bulky. Does it feel bulky in hand? Coz on paper its absolutely not.
At 15.9mm if this is bulky then what you would call SE X1 at 16.7mm? Is there any other model with slide out keypad that measures less than 20mm? Samsung did a great job IMO.

and @rony. Not sure what you meant but I think Nokia guys should learn how to design a nice phone from Samsung.
Cheers!

The vodaphone version is reviewed here w/ an AT&T sim. Where can that version be purchased with the QWERTY keypad for use in the states? Every site listed on the phones page is selling the AZERTY keypad.

well im scond..heh heh......and yup se x1 for me too....still a bit concerned about the stability of windows os though...im talking frequent restarts and freezes. As for this phone its something which will look good on some hot chick in a business suit...maybe we should send the nokia guys to samsung to teach them how to produce good looking phones.
