Samsung i620 review: Whiter shade of pale

Samsung i620 review: Whiter shade of pale - read the full textWe have seen lots of phones from Samsung with slider form factor but this time it's a full hardware keyboard that is revealed when you slide the Samsung i620 out - the new mid-range smartphone running on the Windows Mobile 6 Standard edition...

Unfortunately, the i640 is not quadband. I picked one up (i640v) from Plemix, advertised as GSM Quad 850/900/1800/1900 and it was typical European triband. Disappointing, got ok reception, though spotty in some areas where my quads run at atleast a cpl of bars signal strength. THe downside was lack of 3G that I would typically get on AT&Ts use fo the 850 band.

Overall I did like the device, nice tweaks made by Samsung to the std WM 6.0 UI, they added a little customized stuff to get to programs etc. I have really been hoping a quad slider would come out running WM.....guess I'll have to wait longer....
