the Samsung F480 arrived for Telstra customers today.
It is now abble to use the HSDPA 850MHz frequency- something that isn't updated on this website- but is updated on the samsung website.
the phone's UI is really sluggish, and although the manufacturer's site says that the F480 can read office documents- i am yet to find any means of doing so

An all around phone but with a competitive price. It has all the functionality (almost)that one will ever need in a mobile phone. I've been a Nokia user for several years now and this is the first time that I'm using a Samsung. No problem with the phone so far and I'm quite satisfied with its performance.

Have had this phoone for a week and think it's really good. Love the size, and the big screen, its my first samsung too and quite happy so far. Music player is good, browsing the web esp with opera mini is amazingly fast. Plays movies brilliantly! Battery is a little disapointing wiht heavy use but aren't all phones. has not dropped any calls to date. only problem is i can't figure out how to setup and use rss reader, can't even find it on the phone. Any help? Other than that totally recommend this handset.

Hi. I've got the tocco, and I'm really happy with it. One annoying thing though, I've added some words to the T9 dictionary, and now they come up first when texting. They come ahead of common words, like 'and' or 'to', and is VERY annoying. How can I remove these added words?

Wow!!!! Interesting comments! I am about to upgrade my contract and phone... I believe this comment page is 50/50. It can either really help you make up your mind, or totally put you off!! My first option is the Samsung i900. But then I heard of this phone (Samsung F480),and decided to have a look!!
An I have just made up my mind!!! After reading all the comments!
I am taking the Samsung i 900! Eventhough the price range is over the top, I am taking it!! For anyone deciding on a new phone, do yourself a favour, go the website, and read ALL the comments (Good and Bad).
There's no better way to get the answers you want, than to go to those that has the phone!
Know I will be happy with my i 900!!

i have to agree with some comments, the tocco is class. It looks stylish, is very user friendly, n the internet is quality. My only gripe is why have samsung locked the screensaver? U can personalise the phone every other way, even the message alert, which u cant change on most samsungs. Its not a big deal, jus cant work out why they'd lock that, doesn't make sense. Other than that 9.5/10

Hi, I'm from the Philippines and I just tried the phone the other day (not my phone... borrowed someone else's). I think it's really good because it meets an average person's basic needs to contact people. I think that's what Samsung is trying to do: bring back the idea of owning a basic phone but at the same time jump into modernity and bringing it into trend. But in terms of graphics and overall quality, the iPhone wins... as a phone, F480 reigns supreme.
I just don't like it as it has no WLAN and its poor video qualities. Otherwise it's the phone that meets all my needs.
