Samsung F480 review: Touchdown!

Samsung F480 review: Touchdown! - read the full textTo pick up where we left, prepare to meet the next bestseller by Samsung. If you think Samsung F480 is not up to such a challenge you might want to think again. The compact touch-operated handset has every chance of becoming the next best thing...

I think LG Viewty is far superior. There is no virtual qwerty which does not make any sense.

Is it just me or is Samsung following LG now a days.. with Armani after Prada and this 5MP touch after Viewty?

Depending on which ountry you reside in and how much you earn, 3G is better. Its lighter on the battery. Wider coverage and better for on the move surfing. Of course for those who don't have access to 3G, or don't want to pay for an unlimited data plan, WiFi is better. Me? I have 3G and have access to unlimited data plans. So WiFi isn't an issue.

Can you synchronise the calendar + contacts + notes of this and other Samsung Phones (like G 600) with Outlook on your PC ?

I would buy this phone but for one catastrophic failing. The text input is still based on the infernal devil-spawned idea of the 12 key pad design. Its time to wake up Samsung - haven't you ever wondered why everyone loved the original blackberry?

If i ever find the poor fool who invented this design...

I would like to commend samsung for making a phone which is very technoligically capable and yet at the same time compact and good-looking.

Okay, so it may not be the MOST hi-tech phone or the best looking or most individual, but it achieves all three of these catorgaries to a very high standard, and still delievers more than most people need in a phone!

Well done samsung is all I can say.

Please Samsung do a version with:

1, WIFI
2, at least CIF 30FPS video at MPEG-4 and not 3GP

then I would buy. Everything else is perfect...

With all the comments that have been posted about this phone, only a few people have said wifi does not matter. The vast majority want this feature, and it appears to be the only thing that will thwart sales. In addition I wanted GPS as well. Do we know if Samsung actually read any of the comments? GSMarena, you ought to forward the information as it is valuable source of market intelligence (apart from the idiotic comments which you could erase)otherwise we are preaching to the converted, and just talking amongst ourselves.
I guess what really happens is the companies bring out a model then modify it in small steps to maximise total sales. People beware, wifi will probably feature soon, look how quickly the F490 has been replaced. Not even in the shops yet (UK) and the F480 is out.
