It's no news any more that we've been playing with one of the hotties of the season for some time now. Sony Ericsson W980 made a glorious entrance but we're yet to see about the exit. Set to top the Walkman feature phone lineup, W980 carries along 8 GB worth of storage, a 3 megapixel camera and a built-in accelerometer. The touch-sensitive keys and the latest Sony Ericsson feature phone interface add to the excitement. Still not interested? Then try to think of another music phone with a built-in FM transmitter!

Hei man....trust me...this is an awsome phone.....dont have any second thoughts if you are going to buy one....it will make you satisfied......

The bundled earphones HPM-77 are sensational, they make almost any old phone sound different. But the W980 has the extra audio clarity that makes a killer combination. I would say the music becomes "interesting". Sure the iPod may have identical frequency response at the audio port. But its headphones are mediocre.

I suppose when you'll be in one of the cybershot phone forums you'll say the music sucks even though it's speciality is cybershot. As a walkman phone, there's not really much competition. Design maybe could be aproblem for some - that's understandable.

i'll buy a n78 or n82 but not this one. Bcoz those 2 has better function, a 16.million colour display, better camera with af n flash. Dis 1 looks cool but the camera really sucks.

This is just a walkman with good sound but is a dommed set.Sony saved this phone by just one new feature and nothings great about it i would rather buy those old phones about the size of my hand and a mp3 but not this one ,its just waste of money and nothing else.if i would rate it as a sony fan not trying to save the name of sony then i would give it "1" out of "100".Trillion percent disapointment for me as a sony fan really

But i think tht this phone is way too delicate...and i expected more from SE coz it doesnt have Auto focus which is very common nowadays...for those ppl who want a allrounder phone,a W960 would be a better choice...

FYI nokia does not have released any phone model that feature FM transmitter. What you mean maybe is FM receiver and that is very common nowadays. SE were the first to introduce this feature and this is the only phone that has one. This one is a good phone though im not fancy of clamshell design.

this phone lacks da design , it might hve sme coll features like FM transmiiter and all . But daedsign is so terrible infact its so ridiculous for a high end phone , before dis review i thought its a
low end phone but i get shocked getting know that this is a High end device , though bit diffrent frm what SE normally makes but i m sry feel so unmatced for da price it will offer . i guess they should depand W580 or w910 slide series design .

Nice review.
SE need to revamp their FM radio interface so it displays RDS station broadcasts like on the new Samsung phones. Station name is good, but RDS text is advanced and cool...

It would have been awesome if the walkman key was on the side of the phone, then you could use shake control using the external display!
Nice review, but as always with SE they do a nice phone on paper that is full of disappointments (also R306). Why did they use that old camera interface, why is the camera on the wrong side of the flip, and what happened to the FM radio antenna......
