I got the diamond today and I can say that it's awesome. For everybody who's thinking of buying , just do it! About the slowness. HTC will come up with an update for that that's sure and if not there are many things at xda developers that can fix it.
I was also thinking of getting the n82 but the only thing that changed my mind were its buttons. Besides touch screen is it for now since the iphone ^^

The HTC TyTN II is notorious for its sluggishness - its performance equals that on previous generation HTC devices which were all equipped with a 200 MHz CPU.
BTW, with HTC Touch Cruise it's pretty much the same.
The HTC Touch Diamond is another story - it's more responsive in every possible aspect and with a few registry tweaks for increasing the cache size it really starts ticking fast.
But you should wait for the full GSMArena review to see how it fares in the everyday tasks.

Hi I have owned several HTC products and currently have the TYTNII. The key problem i have with this phone is the slowness in response time... i press a key and it takes a few seconds to react. Even when i slide the keypad out, it takes 3-5 seconds to reconfigure the screen. I noticed on your short review that there were some delays like this... In the video, it took a few seconds for the screen to reconfigure into landscape... Please advise if this is a problem with the phone as i am really looking for a phone that responds faster than the TyntII... a possible option is the Samsun i900... Thoughts anyone?
