guys i feel the camera of SE is way way ahead of any nokia too , xeon flash, no one has it and if they do no where near
i its very funny SE has such such low video in its latest phone ,i am sure and very sad as it only points out its on purpose . they dont want the phone to compete their hand held cameras . but SE this is not fair . this ancient and obselete qvga 30 fps is very very sad and hurts anujdxb@gmail.com

TOo much pixels in small CCD cell = bad image quality. Its only market trick put 8mpix to mobile.. 2-3mpix is enough in mobile.

with all due respect. i dont think the sample images are actually from the sony ericcson phone. im a big S.E lover and a professional photographer and i think the images shown as samples of the new C905 ( no exif shown ) are actually from a DSLR, if not.. a GOOD point-and shoot. The images are rich coloured low grains virtually no noise at all. i dont think one can capture it with a TINY censor?

im keeping my fingers crossed on this one. lets hope to see the real c905 and what its capable of.

cheers

8.1MP??? But pixel is not everything. Especially the image sensor size in camera phone is too limited. It is hard to put 1/2.5" in camera phone (except Sharp 903SH using 1/2.5" CCD). So pixel don't really count much. I am also quite disappointed as there is still no optical zoom. Tried Samsung G810 and think Samsung is doing good job on that phone. I would rather prefer C905 stay at 5MP but gimme optical zoom ~~~~~~~

i couldnt care less about the lens. cannon or carl zeiss-those type of lenses only matter in high spec dedicated camera like the ones paparazzi uses, but in phones??? they wont make a massive difference...

lenses in proper camera have differeent layers... probably 3 layers of lenses whereas i dont know in camera phones..... thats why when you use proper camera, the lenses bulges out from the body because of the lenses layers.

got it... so i doesnt matter what lens

> In reply to Shou Ji @ 2008-06-25 21:26 from M@T2I think it will just be officially announced somewhere in Q4 2008 not available at that time. But if it is available earlier then thats good but I doubt it.

> In reply to Shou Ji @ 2008-06-25 07:13 from p$KxWhy did u mentioned about the moto alexander. I think u got the wrong thread. That phone will be released at least in 2009 or not at all. The C905 is a 2008 phone which is also suppose to have a lower price range than that one.

Wow, I was a SE guy, had the first cybershot, which was awesome. But after seeing k850 and its lags and malfunctions I though SE was going downhill & bought an n82. Great phone. But now SE got our friends at Nokia by surprise. I'm guessing now that k850 wasnt something SE was concentrated on. Maybe it was all a cover up to hit Nokia right in the face with a C905. Love the design, except its a slider. SE ftw !!! And nokia IS made with cheap materials. Metal front cover on k800 owned. Well whatever, thumbs up. Ill just sit back and look at the progress. =)

Cheers

PS: If SE always dominated with macro pics, wonder how those 8mp photos will be... =)

hmm the exif data shows nothing, so that means those pictures taken here may not be from the c905

I was also planning to get a K850i and am now leaning toward the C905. One thing, though--the K850i will take MicroSD cards as well as MS Micro (IIRC the Xperia X1 does too). Does the C905? I would hope that SE would standardize on this, though I haven't seen any indication yet that they've used this capability beyond the K850i and X1.

Also glad to hear about the Canon lens on the C905.
