Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot hands-on: First look

Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot hands-on: First look - read the full textThe Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber-shot has managed to create a real stir in the mobile community – it’s the first GSM handset that ships with the whopping 8 megapixels worth of camera goodies and such things simply cannot go unnoticed...

Its a very good concept, but please stop comparing between a digital camera and mobile camera ( doesn't matter if it's 10 or 15 mp). Please don't buy a mobile phone for a Camera.

If u want an optical zoom, just go for Samsung SGH-G800 or Samsung SGH-G810(with Symbian S60v3).
If u want best video recording, just go for LG KU990 with 120fps.
This phone haven't release yet, other manufacture will be follow produce with 8MP as well.
But greet for Sony Ericsson to released 8MP for the first time in the world market. Look a like W910 with great camera. I like it ^_^

> In reply to SE + Nokia Fans @ 2008-06-18 23:20 from i}dRYou're totally wrong! we're not talking about mobile phones. We're talking about a camera mobile phone, and this's what brought us all here in the first place. So stop pretending video isn't important, and stop invoking everybody to buy a handycam.

All people down here are seeking an all-in-one device: a mobile phone with a decent music player, a very good camera and a good video recorder. And VGA video is the least they should get for their money.

And why is this? because they don't want to carry a mobile phone, a walkman and a handycam in their pockets for whenever they need to listen to music, take a snapshot or record a video on the run.

Hope you got the point and wish you cut off this lame controversy.

If any of you people leaving comments here are over 10 years old, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

They're MOBILE PHONES ffs!!!!

Grow up and get lives.

The most logical reason I could think of why SE decided to put QVGA recording in their Cybershot series and they "might" be planning to roll-out a separate series for Video Recording

- Handycam phones perhaps -

This is to satisfy those market that doesn't need a still camera but a video camera instead.

But seriously, I am more of a still camera rather than video.

yap may be its not a good comparission but still we gonna talk abt 2 mostly expected device in da comin months , in this category we dont need any criteria u know stuffs like comparing music + smart phones dosent matter it just 2 demand diffrent phones and which is goona steel da consumers heart which could be either a cam or smart device thats all , but any how seemed to be agreed that N96 is just goona slash out dis phone .

The photos looks great? I'm sorry but did everyone stopped caring about details and colour reproduction? Okay, sure these photos are produced from a beta test model, but these qualities aren't going to change 'that' much. You might be able to fix the colour problems, but the purple fringing and the fuzzy edges aren't fixable. I'm sorry but these pictures look like a blown up version of the c902 and k850, which produces poor pictures for a camera phone.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-06-19 00:19 from nTRfwell it cost more and it would use more space making the phone thicker.. but im sure down the line there will be a phone just for video.. just like the bravia phone..just for TV..

if your making a 8mp cam phone why can't you give it video thats at least passable, i mean come on VGA is ok....its not something you would use to record your kids birthday or your family vatication we need ok video on our phones to capture moments in school....and i agree with youtube and all becoming so know you need good video.......plus its not about carrying a handy cam around....dude if you want a great cam than a sony DSC-W50 which is 6 mp will producs better quality images than the c905 plus its video is VGA with autofocus and its a 4th of the price and pretty much the same size.......dude carry that and a cheap phone to make calls, both will cost you less and will be better

a) My N95 8G does not lock up any more than my other phones (K800i etc), and is not perfect, but it's pretty good. b) I am a big fan of SE, but I do believe that people prefer an all in one device if the features are well implemented. Why carry a handycam when you can use your phone? I also worry that this missing feature will lose them sales. The popularity of the LG Viewty and Secret are evident people DO value video. In fact, I believe it will be MORE important than STILL shots due to the popularity of YouTube - and other video sites of which many (including YouTube) are in the process of displaying higher resolution video. It is EASIER to capture high quality videon using a mobile phone than a still image because still images ALWAYS require a large lens, video is way lower resolution.

> In reply to Nee @ 2008-06-18 20:16 from w9Kcthis and the N96 are in totally different categories... this is a CAMERA phone, the N96 is more of a SMART phone. big difference. this would be like comparing the xperia x1 smart phone to a w980 music phone.
