Nokia E71 review: Messenger of steel - read the full textFollowing some time off since the E51, the Nokia E-series is back to the shop with a new pet for business-minded users. Nokia E71 seems to have it all to take over and build on the E61 QWERTY messengers' expertise. The suave upgrade is...

> In reply to mne @ 2009-09-27 13:50 from 0FJxI'd suggest you go for the E71. After all, what good is a "business" phone without a QWERTY? I've been using it for six months, and it hasn't given me any sort of problems. The phone looks stunning (pictures don't do it justice; you'd have to see for real), it's solidly built, it comes packed with virtually every connectivity option, the QWERTY is really good, the battery life is great, in-call sound quality is excellent, and it works great as an e-mail device. The downside is the absolutely crappy camera and, for some, the size of the screen (it's okay for me, though), but if you can live with that, I'm sure you wouldn't regret buying it.

Hey guys!
Can you please help me choose between e71 and e52!
I really love both phones, maybe e52 I prefer a bit better, but reading the reviews, I see that a lot of people complain about it. Smth like the phone turns off by itself and stuff like that.

I wanna get a good business phone, with good batery life and wifi !

Thank you!

Can you use an mp3 file for a ringtone/text tone of any size on this phone?
Because I am looking to get this phone but this is a key feature that is needed with any phone I buy. Thanks.

Hello everybody! I have to say that I have this phone since 15 days and I decided to buy it after reading all your post and reaching the conclution IT IS THE right one for me. And I need to add that it is more than I expected. Yesterday I've had an accident. My E71 fell down from my pocket when I was getting down my friend's car and a woman at the street told me it just dropped to the paviment (Thanks so much to that woman). But unfortunately my friend didn't know and she started to run the car and the whole car wheel passed over my E71!!! The biggest surprise is that THE PHONE WAS ALIVE!!! It survived, it is working and it hadn't any scratch as I was using that leather cover that comes with the phone. I still can't believe it. Of course the leather cover is useless now but my phone is intact. THANK YOU NOKIA!!!!!! This is the right phone for a distracted person like me. :D

Have had this phone two weeks or so. Battery life is fabulous...the best I've come across. However, the keyboard is rubbish...the buttons are so close together you cannot type anything correctly first time off. When you type an email or text and look at the screen it's like you've invented a new language.Mistakes and mis-typings everywhere. Do yourself a favour and don't get this phone.

anybody here has experience a pretty decent battery life with this phone?

I'm pretty much disappointed over the hype that the battery of this phone would last 3-4 days (or even longer!), co'z mine just ends roughly at 2 days max. (turn off light sensor, notifi and blinking lights, less apps installed and more importantly, 3G is OFF)

I've read some other forums that the much acclaimed *Longer BATTERY LIFE is REALLY NOT what you would expected it to be...

Where's the notion of being a E-business Smartphone when your battery life would just deliver below expectatons. Again 3-7 even 10 days battery life you say?? BAH!! Tell that to the Marines!

> In reply to mike dee @ 2009-05-02 09:05 from vxw6Mike, update your firmware to the latest version (210.21.006).
It'll greatly improve camera's performance.

Extremely disappointed in (1) the sort order of the contacts - doesnt sort properly in alphabetical order (2) the Mark/Unmark feature (for deleting/moving files and messages items or for adding multiple contacts to send SMS or email)needs about 5 clicks per item instead of 1 (3) when using File Manager and moving through folders, image files cannot be previewed.

The Nokia 6270 which I had for 3 years was excellent in these respects, and it's a shame that Nokia has downgraded these features in what's supposed to be a superior model

I'm fighting Nokia at the moment trying to get my phone repaired and possibly replaced. Can you please give me a list of the problems you encountered so that i have proof to provide. They are blaming the issues on water damage even though i've read so many people are encountering the same problem!!!!!! much appreciated!

I'v been using this phone for 2 months now. The battery life is amazing. Inspite of surfing the web, playing games the battery last for atleast 3-4 days. Decent phone overall.

> In reply to boy @ 2009-02-03 09:27 from kQZ6I think this is an excellent phone and I don't seem to have any major issues (fingers crossed). However, unlike the Blackberry the keys are very slim and I see often that not everyone has got the hang of t typing easily. Otherwise it all pretty good in terms of features and performance.

Highly recommended but do check if your fingers can do the typing...
