Samsung i8510 INNOV8 preview: First look
The new Samsung uber-phone, called Samsung i8510 INNOV8, is finally in our hands. It packs so many goodies that it's hard to decide where to start from. It's not the first 8 megapixel handset but it's the best we've seen so far...

> In reply to David @ 2008-08-19 20:14 from M8TuI read David's comment and it really makes me think twice to buy samsung. But i hope innov8 can solve the bug since the bug didn't affect samsung omnia I think. Because in the samsung omnia review its said "When it comes to image browsing, the Samsung Omnia Media Album is really fast displaying and browsing those 5 megapixel images fullscreen."...

I used to be a Samsung phone user b4.. i gave it up for one reason.. i will come that.. this phone looked interesting enough to make me wanna start using Samsung phones again.. so i started reading the quick review made by gsmarena.. everything seemed very nice through the chapters.. i knew which chapter in the review i was waiting for.. and the reason that i gave up on Samsung.. then it came.. the image/video gallery browsing and accessing memory card material.. well this is what gsmarena wrote "We also noticed a certain lag in image opening - we really hope this is a pre-production bug that will be fixed further.. well sorry.. it won't be fixed.. itīs not a pre-production bug.. thatīs what they write on all Samsung pre-production reviews "that they hope itīs a pre-production bug".. itīs just Samsung simply.. anybody ever used a Samsung phone will tell you that you might as well take the day of from work if you are gonna access files stored on memory in Samsung phones.. it takes ages.. and i donīt know how many times i have wanted to throw my Samsung G800 and Samsung F480 out the window.. itīs ridiclous that canīt make a quicker media/memory browser in 2008.. what is the problem Samsung?.. it's not like you donīt know how to make phones.. you have been in the business quite long now.. itīs about time you shape up.. pretty phones is a thing of yesterday and not that high on the market any more.. i remember when people was like WOW!! have you seen how pretty the new Samsung phone is.. thatīs yesterday.. i want high end application usable phones with fast media/gallery browsing.. if i want pretty.. i will watch top model 5 on tv.. itīs not much to ask.. you are Samsung for god sake.. not a cheap chinese knock of brand.. so me or my family will not be going back to Samsung til i know for sure they have fixed this issue..

This is the epitome of awesomeness at the moment, the pinnacle of mobile phone technology. It has every goodies under the hood. Never mind the Xenon flash, it's a battery drainer and with adjustable ISO, night photos can still be quality . Also, dual LED is well enough for night portraits. With 8MP capability, who needs optical zoom? It'll just add bulk and drains the battery much faster.
My first phone was a monochrome SE, then I switched to the bulky N 3660, and finally I got myself a mid-range all-rounder SE C702. I'll need to work my ass off to get this beast, and by the time I've got the cash, an even greater beast unimaginable will be out. I love the evolution of technology. This phone certainly makes other phones look outdated.

nice features,Divx, wmv etc...is nice, but lack xenon flash, and SE Best Pic technology feature very useful ,for example taking-selecting the best sportive/action/shots in sports, like now,the Olympics.and i am always familiar with the SE menus ,navigation, shortcuts etc..very simple and easier to use.....K800,K810,C905 or Cybershot digicams my convenience...

GSMarena is cool and all!...
But do any of the reviewers know how to take good pictures?
Seriously... They always produce blur pictures no matter what camera phone they use. If you compare the pictures taken by other review sites e.g. mobile-review. There is a huge difference in quality.
Please don't take offense because I think the reviews are the best! Only the pictures taken could be better...
Nokia better watch out because Samsung will catch up with them if they keep producing quality products... I liked the Omnia, now this!
Samsung also seem to produce much thinner handsets than Nokia with the same or better feature set.

My god will you N95 freaks pleeeeeeeeeeease shut the hell up.
Its like you genuinely believe that your precious N95 was the first ever slider and every other slider is a copy of it. By that logic, you should call every LCD TV a copy of another as they have the same form factor. Every car is a copy of another, every refrigerator is a copy of another etc etc etc Get the point????
I have news for you, the Innov8 is not a copy of the N95, it has the same form factor, but feature-wise it p1sses on the N95 from a great height, and like it or not the N95 is dead. Kaput. Seeyalater. Deal with it.

My question is where will I be able to get it? I live in Ontario and I doubt Rogers is going to get it because theyre in bed with Apple. but then Rogers is the only GSM network provider in Canada. So If I buy it grey market what price am I lookin at?

hahaha, look at the iphone quality! Great camera from Samsung here.
the only thing that is a turn-off with this phone for me, is the UI. The icons and all the themes aren't to my taste at all.
