Samsung B2700 review: Tough and geared
Samsung may be flying high on INNOV8 but they sure have at least a toe on the ground. Just recently they spilled the low-to-mid-end bag, so we don’t forget a flagship is only as good as the fleet behind it. No handset in the handful they just...

Had one... Pulled it out my pocket hard, caught a thread from my jeans on the D-pad and it ripped the D-pad right out the keypad.
Not cool

Mmmm, good video marketing tool. Like how it was run over by the car and washed down with water. This could be a phone that may fit our lifestyle here in the far north of Queensland. Getting into wet season now and if phone happens to slip from pocket into a puddle of water and still be ok.....that would be good. Will ask some tradies if they have one. The kind of concept we are looking for.

I use mobile phones from 1991.already have a collection of 223 devices.I use a B 2700 from july, under very bad conditions. The most crazy was that my phone droped from my pocket while i was driving with my motorbike and a Mercedes Srinter van drive allover it.Nothing, not even a scrach!!!!!

> In reply to Akela19 @ 2009-02-20 18:23 from iBx3 - click to readInteresting comment. Just taken the microSD card out of my D600, as the battery life's awful on it. Hope this makes a difference!
Good review, might be just the phone I'm looking for, seeing as:-
a) My Orange contract's due up in three weeks.
b) Orange coverage here has gone abysmal, so looking to move to 3/O2 network.
c) Phones that give me trouble need to be tough. Samsung D500s and U600s don't like walls.

> In reply to arkas2004 @ 2009-01-12 22:46 from 001Q - click to readI made some tests concerning the autonomy.
Tests conditions: 5 minutes calling per day, mobile switched on 24x7, no other function used.
- without MicroSD card: ... 14 days!!! Really great.
- with 4GB MicroSD, empty (no file) and formated by the phone: ... less than 3 days. Is there a problem?

Just bought a B2700 as a replacement for my nokia 5100 which has lasted 5 years with zero problems. splashproof, rugged and long battery life is everything for me - with heaps more tech than the old.
Will a bluetooth GPS unit sinc with this for google maps etc?

Yes, it's possible to sync with MS Outlook (or Outlook Express). You can sync your contacts, calendar, tasks and notes.
Does anyone know if it's possible to install opera mini on this phone? I haven't managed yet - it won't open the .jar or .jad files. I also didn't find it on the list of phones at http://www.operamini.com/download/pc/samsung/ so maybe it's not possible?
I haven't yet managed to connect to internet with the built-in browser either...
