Hi guys
I currently have an issue with the Nokia Music player. The problem is that the display goes off after 15 to 60 seconds depending on your settings. I need it permanently on, similar to GMobileXT that has the option to keep it on when navigating, plugged in etc. The original version of the Firmware had the display on permanently when playing music, hence the short battery life, but when using it in the car when plugged in, one don't need the power saving option. I was thinking of downloading a visualization that has a font big enough that you can read from driving position to dashboard, but I haven't come accross any download plug-ins for this software.
They should've given some power options in the settings of the Music Player.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-05-20 14:10 from iIR0firstly i ended up debranding my n95-1 on vodafone so i could get the software updates..Secondly since its up to network operators if they want to allow users to get these updates i always buy sim free.. i have a sim free n96 on the way and should be able to update it if it not already upto date but i could have saved monet by getting it on vodafone locked but no thanks..Its a fact i learnt years back that operators put their own software on beggering things up..

We don't have words to explain about the phone ( Nokia N96 ) . Because phone's design and features are very good. I didn't buy still now. Because of the financial situation . However I will buy very soon and write about the usage ASAP.

I think Im pretty much convinced on this phone. There is also a good article review about the N96 that I was reading, it talks about the good design and functionality.

> In reply to Bakhti @ 2008-10-04 04:26 from 4CMaI totally agree with what you said. I've been a reader of GSMarena for over two years now and never attempted to even read another website's review since no other website is this professional. With N96 and N81's reviews, however, they went too emotional, in my opinion. I disagree with you saying that they should post their opinions. Professionals study and observe things regardless of their opinions, that's why they're called professionals. I hope this never happens again.

Excellent phone but why is the battery so poor? I charge mine every other day. I had the N95 before and the battery was awesome on that phone? Any ideas on how I can preserve this? Should I buy a new battery or buy another Nokia phone battery that is compatible? If the latter, which phone battery?

Regarding it freezing, mine used to freeze when I bought it initially but the shop dealer told me simply to ensure all applications are closed down properly after usage. Check by looking at the menu and you will know what is open as you will see a blue circle on the right hand corner of the icon still opened. Also you can check via task manager to see what is open. This should stop all freezing. It did for me!!

They keep knocking the N81's looks over the N95's I have always liked the N81 and 96's looks over the N95.

Hey all
N96....got mine a month now, free on a premuim contract, if i had paid the fould language rule would definately be broken. 6 main concerns why i think the n96 16g is not what its made out to be..
1) battery life....i want my htc back here, i cant even go an 8 hour day without needing to recharge, mabye thats why nokia added a car charger to the kit?
2) slow and freezes...seriously? whats up with this? a premuim phone and i have to constanly reboot? up to 3 times a day?
3) camera button..ide better leave this one alone..it sucks
4) exposed camera lens...you guys really couldnt make the lens recessed to avoid scrathes could you?
5) keypad...looks cheap, feels cheap, is cheap..opened the rear cover, made in China, no suprise.
6) distortion - try the speaker phone on loud..ahhh? say again? what was that..give up use it normally.

Sending it back...asked for the samsaung inno...whatver. Hope it just works this time round..thats the last time i get a phone cause it "sounds great"
