Nokia N96 review: King's new clothes
Every time Nokia Nseries numbering goes up a notch geeks are holding their breath. Well, geeks - including us - are no ordinary human beings, but in the case of Nokia N96 they'd been holding their breath since February...

"It takes quite a big pocket to stash Nokia N96 and the weight of 125g"
someone plz explain that concern for me, cuz i never seem to get it. or is it just me who thinks that pocketing such a premium device as this one for example is quite...well, undignified?

All Nokia dealers have been asked to stop sales of N96 due to the problem of "system hang". Not sure when they are going to rectify it!! almost had it in my hands and now i got to wait longer!!!!

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-10-08 11:41 from mK98 - click to readu r right. but since u have n95 8 gb, u dun really need this ph unless u like nokia 2nd gen Nseries design. I bought it coz I dun have n95 8gb and I love the n96 design. I wish not many ppl buy this ph, so that it become exclusive like n93.

i have N73 and N95 8GB for the moment... i was thinking of buying the N96. At first, after reading all the comments i got a little scared that it might not be the right choice. But hey... that's what ppl said about N95 as well.. i really don't care about the looks so much. you can call me a geek. but i never leave my phones..., even in the toilet :D so i think i will buy one after all.. if you like looks: buy an iphone... if you like quality: buy nokia! :d that;s my motto. you can do so much with a symbian phone you have no ideea. it's sad that nokia makes devices so good for such incompetent people. as for the bugs, tell me one device that had no problem when it was first launched. nokia will solve most of the problems soon. they always give new software updates for it;s devices.

N96 is catastrophic !!!
slow slow slow phone
it plays very bad the mp4 videos
the battery life is very short
there are reboot and crashes
and you must be gest used to firmware updates because nokia like it so be ready to backup and flash each week or more
I bought N96 and I regret a lot !
The old N95 8GB works better

I'm very surprised by the disappointment every one is having with this one. But I guess that's what happens when you do more of the same, and in this case donwgrading some of the key features of your flagship device, people aren't going to take it too well. The N95 was a true innovation, the N96 is a rehash.

"Doesn't charge via the USB port, Dreadful camera key, Cheap looking keypad, Unreasonably hefty price tag" - Nokia goes down, even more expensive stuff like E90 has design, material and manufacturing problems, I want to buy a new PDA/communicator but I'm stuck - IMHO nothing actually offered is worth spending money for even half the price...

Just a silly thing really, but the car charget thing is untrue. N96 it's not the first Nokia to have it in the box, I bought an E90 (and I swear by it, love my brick of a phone) and it too had it.

i LIKE nokia 2nd generation Nseries Design. They r hard to attract ppl in first sight, but they can last longer than any other design. I have N96 and it has full of bugs. Now in servicing. But I still like the design. Hope all those bugs gone after servicing.
