Will this phone make it to the U.S. and if so when? To me, so far this is the only other phone that I've seen that I would buy over the iPhone.

Hey i was wondering how the keypad is on this phone. Is it like the iphone multi-touch or do we use a stylish to type. I just wanted to know cause i havent ever seen the keyboard on any of the pictures or videos.

This phone is the best WM handset to be build - EVER. I have the privilege to play with the i-phone( off-course my wife had to have one). I have a HTC Titan II. Love the business features (still unmatched), but it is a bit bulky and lacks the style and playfulness of the -i-phone. The guys at apple are in a different class. They FOCUS. That is why the i-phone is such a pleasure. I do however need the choices that WM offers in terms of software, third party vendors. WM needs to embrace touch phone tech. They have not done that yet. I have seen the HD videos on you tube and it is different from the existing Diamond touch flo. Message - Guys at HTC - Best handset EVER - Well done !!!! Look at the comments - 1) Hard button for camera - 2) Flash for camera (Not so important - nice to have), Forget the slide out keyboard. If it is going to do to the HD what it did to the Diamond pro - rather leave the slide out keyboard.
Guys at Microsoft - 1) Lets see a little imagination on WM 7 - embrace touch - The combination of WM 7 with this phone will once and for all settle this as the ultimate business phone, with a touch of play. choice. 2) Lets see an app-store that works as easily as the Apple Store, without restraining other installation and third party options. We have to hand it o the apple guys - they take simplicity to the next level. I love the i-phone - It just redefined the market, But I think I am going to love this phone even more : - )

It might be difficult to change the hardware before final release, but hope HTC would read some of the suggestions in this forum and do the followings:
1. re-write the camera software and allow the use of the volume button as a shutter key for the camera,
2. re-write the same software to add face detection.
3. the Home and Back keys are probably less useful than the Action key of the D-pad. Should reprogram one of the key as such.
4. rewrite touchflo as a program that can be accessed from Window Mobile rather than an 'Either Or' interface to the today screen.
If HTC can't do it, eventually some else will do it for them, so why not get it right the first time.

whats this>???? does htc have someone from their marketing department here writing about their phones? refuting the criticism even when its real??
so here goes??
where is the flash?
where is the dedicated camera button?
where is the memory? what i have to buy the phone and then pay another $200 for the memory? come on!!!
where is the solid build quality that the iphone has?
whats with the soft screen that scartches easy like the diamond?
whats with the ugly screen colors? why don"t htc use the o2 colors?
htc does make ok phones. i have had 3 of them. one that worked and 2 that constantly broke down.
how hard is it for them to think a little further ahead and not be followers.
all we want is just a good phone. that’s all!!!

"The microSD card slot is also under the back cover but luckily it's accessible without removing the battery itself. So as it seems the future Touch HD users will have quite a nice time opening the battery cover on a frequent basis" ???
??? why would they open the battery cover if you can access the card slot without removing the cover and you even said the restart button is usable without removing the cover....?

I miss robust OS, like Apple has. HTC-s own OS add-on to Mobile 6.1 eats resources and slows the operation...

> In reply to LeikOMG! @ 2008-10-22 05:01 from 4LK}I am sorry but when i should pay the price for a 3G Phone, then i want to have all the Benefits from 3G. So in my opinion This phone is pretty nice, but useless for USA!!
I need my phone for Business incl. support for computer over Internet. Try this with GSM.... No chance.
Look on the specs from Xperia X1 (i guess build from HTC). Why they can do it here but not for the HTC Touch HD??
Sorry but HTC is useless.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-10-22 15:26 from NxsfThe HTC touch HD better than the I900 Ominia. The HTC comes with 3D Accelartor that i900 doesn't improve. Full touch screen 3.8 inches compares with 3.0 inches of Samsung i900. Otherwire, HTC is a leader of touch phone now.
