Sony Ericsson T700 review: Cup of T, anyone?

Sony Ericsson T700 review: Cup of T, anyone? - read the full textLight of weight and heavy on looks, easy on the wallet and keen on getting things done, Sony Ericsson T700 is playing for keeps in the midrange. Stylish exterior, high-speed data, snappy interface and...

T700: Well I used the T700 and here are some drawbacks in the phone. The internal antenna of this phone seems to be weak after i test-compared with the another SonyEricsson with the same service provider and at the same (specific accurate) location. T700 had the signals (network) fluctuating / less signal bars on screen as compared to the other phone's signals at the same location. I DONT KNOW IF THIS PROBLEM PERSISTS ONLY IN MY T700 OR IN ALL T700s. There is also not enough security like as in Samsung and other phones. There should be a Password or a Code option for entering the Inbox, Unlocking keypad, Call Logs etc as seen in Samsung. The speaker is just useless. Not at all good. Screen should have been 16M colors instead of 256K. Also the phone hangs at times for a few seconds but then resumes on its own. SO please check it before you buy.
Thank you guys

Hi GSMarena, great review!! But you mentioned the speaker quality was very poor, can you explain more in the review?

I'm looking forward to the W705.....though I'm tempted to get the G705 just for the GPS to make it complete......hope the camera is as good :)

what a useless camera. Auto focus is soooo cheap! They insist not building it in. Losers...

Darn, I'm already repenting for having bought this phone. The red-on-black W705 looks absolutely mind-blowing and has WiFi too. Anybody out here interested in a barely used red T700 in 10/10 condition?

Good review, but why do you guys leave out the Audio Quality test for SE most of the time? Just because it's a walkman doesn't mean it's good. Could you add that please?

Nice review, you've convinced me GSM Arena, I currently have a k800i which is dying & this phone seems to be in a similar vein(except the Cybershot camera of course, but that doesn't bother me a I have a 7.1mp camera anyway so I'd use that if I want to take really good photos).

I think I've found my next phone, until the price of the W902 comes down of course, lol.

This phone is brilliant. I just bought a red-on-black version for my girlfriend and she adores it more than her previous Z750.

Nice review GSM Arena, I think you make the best reviews on the Internet. It is very good that you are not biased (like for example Eldar on Mobile-Review is).

I may get this T700 as christmas gift for my wife, but I'm not sure about the colours. Will there be a red version?

This device is a worthwhile addition to the portfolio. Potential buyers might also consider the K660i which, along with the C702i, is an underestimated device from SE. Whilst the T700 has the metal finish, a 3.2 mp camera module, and the latest SE java interface, the K660i has a videocall camera and dedicated internet keys. People might also wish to wait for the G705 which has wifi and a larger screen. All are good options and the T700's strong design should appeal.

So glad GSMarena finally did a T700 review. I had been considering it for awhile but now I know it's a solid choice for sure. If it's price was down around $200, it would sell so ridiculously well.

some people really like the style of the SE phones.

i bought a w880i 15 months ago simply because nit looked great, had a nice aluminum finish, had some features- though i miss the radio. i have replaced it with a creative Zen X-Fi and will not be going back to walkman series. i had some good times with this phone- anyways. i really do like this phone. am pondering geting it whenever it arrives in Aus- that is if i don't find a new phone sooner.

i am tossing up between the X1 and the sgh F480.

my deciding factor is looks- not reatures. all i want is a decent quality camera, full 3g with videocalling function, and a responsive UI.

lately Nokia phones have gone down the gurgler on both aesthetics and speed. and don't condescend me. i am a mobile phone salesperson- so i know what i am on about- since i use all phones to oblivion before fully charging the battery and selling it- that way i learn all the features and can focus my sales on the "wow factor" of the phone.

lately Nokias have a wow factor but for me it is "wow. how much slower can the N95 & 96 get?"

Wow... I never bothered to look into the T-series.
I've always been staring at the walkman, and cybershots...

This one is actually quite impressive,
Thanks for the review!

Not bad, but if your going to have disadvantages, get over it!

* Only 25 MB of inbuilt memory - comes with a card in the box, so this wont influence ppls decision!!
* No autofocus - fair point
* Tin-can sound from the feeble and hollow loudspeaker - will have to wait and see
* No office document viewer - This is only on windows, and sybian phones, and because its mid range, why bother with it.

OK, nokia handsets have doco viewers, but how many ppl use it. useless feature unless its on a business focused handset.
