HTC Touch HD review: Windows almighty - read the full textThe Touch HD is storming the WinMo stage to leave a footprint the size of half the HTC portfolio. Not so long ago we saw how sexy Windows Mobile can look, now it gets multimedia hot. There’s TouchFLO 3D to roll the heavy WinMo machine into action...

Good grief people,

as if 90% of pictures are taken at night... It's a decent camera for snapshots when you're at a BBQ or travelling.

Maybe the UI doesn't beat the iPhone, but if you compare the specs - sorry this beats it handsdown (and you can't deny the facts!).

yeah its not a camera phone, but what's the use of the camera during night time or at poor visibility or dark places??? i think none!!! so its useless to have them on the phone??? then why include it on the specs??? why build a phone with a camera on it when its useless??? maybe when you buy this, buy also a flashlight. all im saying is manufacturer should think of what they are building not only HTC all manufacturers including Apple which their iPhone has no flash too in their phone. if making something make it useful not useless...

I had the touch diamond and loved it except that the speaker quality was disappointing for ringtones and speakerphone.

How is this phone in terms of loudness and clarity for sound? I am not expecting a concert hall, but cant it at least match the E71?

If it can, then I am buying one coz I thought the Diamond was pretty much perfect (except speaker).

Cheers :)

> In reply to nhissing @ 2008-11-30 14:11 from uS%Ri think most of the people over here should know this is not a Camera phone but a phone with a camera at the back.

Stop complain about the flash. this is not a Camera.

And please look at the beauty of the phone. Don't magnified the small disappointment as it is the end of the world.

As GSMArena commented as Disadvantage i have to say that the MAIN MAIN MAIN Disadvantage and disappointment would be 1.NO Dedicated Camera key 2. a Flash and 3. TV out Port. Why??? you ask...

1.Every Smartphone that is manufactured today all of them has a dedicated camera key and why make a camera when there would be no dedicated camera key????

2.no flash??? a flash on a camera is very important on dark places and specially at night, HTC people, why did you put a camera on a your phone just to have a camera on it??? but its useless, so when its useless why put it in there??? why dont you make a camera phone that is useful??? are you a fan of the iPhone???? your just like the iPhone steve jobs put a useless camera on their phone much worst no video.

3. no TV out port??? not so important but maybe you should have add it anyways...

I have been using the Touch HD for about 10 days. Ordered it from the UK and delivered to the US. Having used Windows Mobile phones and Blackberries primarily for the last 7 years, I have to say, this is the best phone I have ever had. I read alot of books using my phone and the 3.8" screen is perfect. Websurfing is a joy to use and the touchflo interface covers up the WinMo deficiencies. Highly recommend it.

oversized screen display doesn't look good anymore. and it is more susceptible to breakage. 3'2 inch is more than adequate already. categorically this in not a PDA anymore..it's already a TABLET! LOL

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-11-29 23:46 from n2U7SE X1 is getting a bit outdated now. I've been using it for more than a month and it does not have the sexiness of the 3.8" screen of the Touch HD.
Looking forward to getting rid of the X1 next week and buying this monster baby!

The touchFlo interface is just a cover which sets beneath it a horrible OS (windows) .. Windows Mobile sucks

I have to admit, it's certainly an outstanding spec sheet, but to me it appears, ever since Apple brought their iPhone to the market, one manufacturer after another is copying that touch based form factor! Only seem most other manufacturers, such as HTC here, to do a better job. But to me the initial credit goes to Apple. The TouchFLO interface really reminds me of Apple's iPhone UI.
