Nokia E63 review: E for Economy - read the full textNokia E63 is the next QWERTY messenger by Nokia, set on the glorious path of the E71. Only this time it slips off the high heels to walk it in plain straight and simple boots instead. And the matching price tag leaves little doubt of what this Working Joe here is all about...

i think they need to make faceplates!

Funny people are always complaining, no one cares about what kind of phone u prefer, or wat your taste is, if u dont like it, then dont complain, and no one care's if you have a E71 or E63.

If i would sell $20 for $10, people are still complaining.

So get a life,

All I can say about this phone is WOW! It doesn't stop surprising me with the things it can do.

It has replaced my mp3 player - and it's better, since I can just keep adding tunes to bigger microSD(HC) cards as I want to expand. It plays movies in iPod format with ZERO problems. The calendar rocks. The contacts are easy to use and add all sorts of detail to. And with Quick Office's free update, I have Word and Excel (and Power Point, but I never use it) reading, creation, and editing in the palm of my hand.

Performance is snappy. The only crashes I've experienced were with internet radio stations, and I think that was more to do with the selected stations, because certain ones will crash it EVERY time.

If you have Bluetooth on your computer, it's fantastic for transferring files, although nowhere NEAR as fast as putting the microSD card into a card reader. Also, being in radio, it's great to be able to pair the phone wirelessly with our Bluetooth enabled remote mixer. Nothing short of awesome!!

If I had to pick a couple of beefs with it, one would be the rubber plug for the headset/headphones. There's no excuse for that not to be attached. None at all. Two would be that you can't listen to FM radio on it without having headphones attached. I get that there is no built-in antenna, and it uses the headphone cord as the antenna ... but really. What would it have cost to coil some wire inside the body of the phone for FM?? It would rock to have FM over the loudspeaker like the music player does.

Oh, and like many others, I also get that fuzzy sound in the headset that sounds like a cranked up amp with nothing playing. But it's not TOO bad, and I can certainly live with it.

LOVE this phone, recommend it to anyone, anywhere. Just too bad it doesn't have the E71's built-in GPS. That would be cool.

I'm a Treo user. Can I migrate my files from the Treo 650 to the Nokia E63, in particular the contacts directory and calendar (appointment date book)? If so, how can it be done? Thanks!

The camera has inferior quality. 2MP's definitely not good enough.

Got my E63-Black 2 days ago. I tell you, black looks very professional compared to the red or blue ones :)

Pros: Battery, Wifi etc Also, got a USB cable in the box which was a surprise (as every1 mentioned, we need to buy it separately). Box had Fone, Battery, Headfones(cheapos), charger, USB cable, but no software CDs

Cons:
1. Cant use SIM contacts directly. Need to copy them to the phone always :|
2. Keypad is a bit tacky. I feel it would go bad easily.
3. speaker is not loud enough - Unable to hear it ring even at max volume :(
4. Not extremely fast, but not slow either
5. Day1 & the themes are reported as corrupt. Dunno why is it so. Hadn't installed anyother new software (not even copied the numbers). So, something fishy. - Should keep the upgrade suite handy
6. Cheap headset - they couldve done a better job here by putting in some nice stereo speakers
7. Give all required software on CDs please!!

audio quality for music and video is not quite impressive, however, a must-buy for business purpose and web browsing at a very reasonable price.

Red is batter color than blue. so any body want to buy a business phone please see E63 once before buy others phone cause any one see it definatly they buy e63 instead of others. the E63 is batter batter batter then others. batter then also e71, nice to buy e63 great handsets. you can buy e63 with close your eyes casue no problem in e63 but that is great great and great only. Best of luck for e63 all buyer.

The E63 from Virgin Mobile came with a 1GB card and headset. It was a breeze to set up emails and wifi, even without reading the manual. The Nokia Maps is sufficient as I dont like using my data plan gor GPS. The Virgin plan came with 20MB data for checking emails which I think is good value, on a $30 plan. I wouldnt even use this to surf the web on to go but if I have to, I can just use wifi or just my ipod Touch due to its bigger screen. The music player on E63 is ok for me. I prefer to have separate devices that does it job well. I like N810 for its GPS, Ipod for music and E63 as a messenger phone. Thats just me.
