Is it Paid For ?, 27 May 2009U know folks, the last time I read the preview and review GSMArena had about the LG Arena, the... moresee i used both Lg renoir and arena, its true that the sound from the loudspeaker isnt loud enough. but it doesnt mean that they are bad. honestly, I tried too many touch phones in the market including iphone, htc and samsung phones. but still i really prefer LG highend phones. Because IMO these two phones are the best in the market to date.
If u feel that GSMarena is baised towards LG, i dont think that they would mention the negative things about the product. like what they did in this preview.
and this is only preview so dont judge directly. wait for the review and we will get to know about its drawbacks.
BTW the GD900 will "Definitely" be my next phone.

Look it up on eBay, and you'll see that it's completly transparent (ever wondered how a touchscreen works, you don't see any wires there either do you?). Basically it a digitizer on a transparent background with the numbers etched on. No rocket science...
Btw, since digitizers are also flexible, soon you'll see LG or someone else come up with a flexible keyboard/keypad. Big deal.
No 3.5 mm audio jack, No FM Transmitter, No GPS !!! Why is it so hard to put all in one phone!!
I would really like a real keypad and 8Mpixel camera on my LG Arena!!

No one can trust a site 100%, but this is just another source for the updates for phones, or researches for a new phone for some others.
For personal, I think this site is not doing some "paid" reviews. They pull some pos and cons for phones, for almost all they can test. As a human, we do review based on our mind and our senses. Maybe it is not loud enough for you, but maybe it is for others? or maybe, your phone isn't 100% performing? Or, who knows if the phone makers give the reviewers a better one?
This site is just a source for consumers, nothing more. If you "believe" they r paid for, then I will say "Read and search for other sites then". Everyone has their own rights to comments and reviews, but if you don't like it, just don't discredit others hard works.
It is always better to read from sources and personally look at the product before buying it. I feel sorry for your last phone, but hope you can find better one.
Btw, I like this site. Even I don't 100% trust all sources, but I like this site.
Keep up the good work.
This device is reinforcing the argument that now the difference between smart phones and feature phones is non existent to a large extent. Many of today's feature devices such as this forthcoming one have most of the connectivity and multimedia features people will require. Add to this the fact that the operating systems are sometimes more stable and one can understand the growing popularity of feature devices. If LG get the price right with this one it could well end up being one of its best selling devices.
There's something about the keypad that just seems wrong to me... I think it's the whole no wires to the keys but it freaks me out slightly.

I guarantee this is the BEST mobile phone in the world so far. Beyond the world greatest mobile manufacturer Nokia & other brands as well, although i'm a loyalty Nokia's phone user. I am sure this is my next phone!!
U know folks, the last time I read the preview and review GSMArena had about the LG Arena, they heaped so much praises and sexy comments over it and the notorious S-Class interface, I started to wonder if LG itself actually paid GSMArena staff to say positive things about their handsets to entice users to buy their phones. This, in itself is also another form of marketing. If I can pay famous cellphone sites to say good things about the phone Im selling, why not?
I remember both the LG Renoir and Arena was touted as having a superb interface and all comments by the reviewers practically heaped priase on both these models. And over here in Singapore, I bought both these phones and it took me only a few days to give them away.
The sound quality is Bad, I mean REAL BAD. U can barely hear the phone ring, and LG calls it Dolby Surround Sound. The Renoir was touted as having a tonne of features but in reality is boring to use and slow to operate. And then we have GSMArena heaping praise on the LG Arena which they call it an iPhone killer. Boy, the phone's S-Class interface is full of animations but NO substance and freezes and lags occasionally. I hear people around me buying the Arena and selling it away barely one week from purchase feeling cheated.
And Now, it confirms my speculation that reveiwers are paid money to give biased comments on phones that do favour to the manufacturer when GSMArena is trying so hard to heap praise on every single aspect of this LG Crystal and even trying to play down its drawbacks.
Its so funny that these reviewers are giving the phone their full thumbs up when in reality users are dumping these phones after realising they were fooled into buying them thinking they were really that great to use.

I was hoping to see the 3.5 audio jack, but I'm really glad to see the micro usb port. New addition for lg phones.
8MP looks to be the standard for korean phones nowadays...
Still hoping to know the release date and the price.
This phone seems to be a good choice.
But, wish the video part can be improve a bit.
i think its ugly and a gimmick...
Well, the standard microUSB port blew the deal for me. MicroUSB produces horrible audio with no stereo even with a adapter. So no thanks. I have grown quite tired of the iPhone and with the new one looking to screw people for their money just for the hell of it, i'll probably start looking at other touchphones, with 3.5 mm headphone jacks. Anyone has any experience with the Lg Arena?
i think with the time the glass will be dirt and with no transparency anymore. yach!
andyburgin, 26 May 2009Lg keep trying to impress people nowdays but its the relibility of there mobiles they have to ... moreit's scratch-proof.
im stil baffled as to how the keypad works when we cant see any hardwaare or even wires
