Please guys, are you seriously telling me you consider the pics made with this phone's camera as rivaling even the lowest-end point-and shoot camera??!! I can absolutely never mistake these as made by ANY P&S. If, and only if the sensor in this phone was at least as big as a P&S, vould it be any kind of competition.(CCD has less noise than CMOS at the same size) Judjing by the focal lenght the sensor is as big as that of the SE C905(8MP). That would explain the increased noise. Since the K750 things go like this: K800 - more resolution, bigger sensor - better photos; K850 - more resolution, same size sensor (I think) - more noise and wasted MP most of the time; C905 - more resolution, bigger sensor - better pics (noise back at the K800/K750 levels); and now Satio - more resolution, same size sensor as C905 - increased noise and little benefit of the extra MP res.
I like how the Samsung camera-phones are doing though. I don't know what sensors they use but at the 8MP level they produce pretty good results for a phone camera. :)

too much noise in the picture even in outdoor,we can't use it as a substitute low end ultra compact camera on other hand lg arena has no noiseon the first sample image.i thought satio would outbeat in terms of camera quality than any others phones.........little disappointed.

I still think iphone has the best UI and screen!! If only SE had captive AMOLED screen it would been my next phone.
Iv heard nokia will announce n97i soon (july) it'll be same as n97 but without the qwerty keypad, scree raised slightly higher and with captive screen.

Instead of producing all these phones, maybe Sony (and Nokia for that matter) should try producing phones that actually work. Instead of banging 100s of phones out world wide evry year why dont they actually produce 4 or 5 max and make sure they work???
All sonys at the minute seem to have the same faults especially the C905. I work for a mobile phone retailer and the ammount on Sonys with faults is staggering at the moment. Most C905 seem to have speaker issues after 3 months, the handsets seem to freeze and reboot when they want and certain keys (mainly the number 6 and the down key) seem to get stiff easily.
Quality not Quantity.

What are you doing/thinking Nokia??????? The Sony Ericsson & Samsung will realese their phone, with 12 megapixel & a great video recording within this few months, I think so as LG too, but you (Nokia) still stuck with your only 8 megapixel & video recording stll VGA 30 frames Nokia N86.Now you are loosing to that Shit Engine(SE), Samsungut & Lime Ground for good...

Pictures look pretty good, but sometimes they're also pretty noisy, I hope this gets fixed. As for video - after seeing the super-highly-detailed video made by Omnia HD Satio's VGA video is completely un-inspiring. Don't know where you saw any "detail", looks like zoomed in QVGA video to me.
Photos are good, I can't argue with that. But we're yet to see 12mp with 3x optical zoom Samsung is brewing, maybe its photos will be even better!
I really hope SE fixes its problems and starts making its high-quality low-price phones based on latest and greatest hardware, not this crap I've been seeing lately.

Is Symbian UI that awful looking that the icons on the Satio are considered "dressed up"? SE's standard UI looks much better IMO. Still excited for this phone..

you say there is no DivX player etc on the handset. I have just got the W995 and with Media Go, IT IS AWSOME!! Full length movies are converted to the correct format for the phone and plays without loosing any of the HD quality from transferring. Deffinatley blew my mind and am glad I have transferred from Shokia's to a real Phone.
And for the tool that said they wil be bankrupt in 2 years.....is that your detailed financial review? "because they hired uninspired" people!! Your kidding. This will deffinatly get ppl moving, and away from their "Nokia" handsets. Ppl are stupid, they put more trust and are more stuck in their ways in their phones then their cars!!

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-06-06 00:04 from mD6k - click to readInternal flash hard drive is necessary (at least SE should give 4 or 8 Gb). The reason is that it takes more time to save your files to memory card. Imagine u r saving 12 mega photos. And remember SE port for charging will become loosen in 2 to 3 months . THats my experience with SE phs. I do like other aspects of SE. Camera quality is no match. The best in the market. Sammy and LG is rubbish even though they make big megapixels phs. But in the end, Satio failure might just be becoz of releasing time, resistive touch screen and absence of internal memory.
""Sony Ericsson better not waste their time as another failure might be fatal for the already troubled company.""

> In reply to [deleted post]They did skin the UI. The regular Symbian is very blank but Sony upped it up and changed it to be quite catchy. But the more megapixels u use the more space will be taken on card/phone memory.

> In reply to [deleted post]who need a flash memory when you can put a 16gb micro sd , who cares for that port ?? thats just a minor problem, 12 mega pixels camera is better than Samsung innov8 plus Satio is just a prototype and will come out in October which means it will improve even more , "the same boring symbian 5th" !!!! I must agree with you that Symbian looks boring but Satio is the first phone to make a revolution, it brings a brilliant UI and even gsmarena said they are happy with that UI
