Samsung I8000 Omnia II preview: First look

Samsung I8000 Omnia II preview: First look - read the full textGather 'round ye gadget lovers, for the tale of Samsung I8000 Omnia II. It's a tale of PocketPC wisdom and touch wizardry, of big screen and pixel aplenty, of ancestry and identity. Lend an ear to this...

I just had an online chat with a rep from Verizon (forgot to copy the text) Sad

I simply asked when she thought the Omnia II was going to be released. She looked into it and just said "soon". We talked a little more and I found that she herself was looking forward to the release of the Omnia II. After a little flattering Wink, she told me to hold on while she checked with someone at a "higher level". When she came back she said that I should definitely check back on Friday.

So, I'm thinking that at the very least(hopefully) on Friday we should have a date for the Verizon release. wait for updates at http://www.samsung-omnia.org

Do you guys have plans to do a comparison of the Omnia I900(I910) to the I8000? What a comparison of the i900/i910 to the i8000 as well as the iPhone 3G?

That would be totally cool.

Thanks,
*BH*

I'm just curious..I've been using omnia for quite sometimes and the speaker or ringing tones sounds so bad.At times i cant even hear if i put it in my pocket.I wonder if omnia II had the same speaker prob as the so called part 1 and my phone keep lagging and hanging. Is there anybody out there had tried the OmniaII??

have been playing around with the phone for a couple'a days. big plus for me is the AMOLED screen, very good for longsighted me......hehe. the part i'm really disappointed with is the camera. it's not 5mp vs 8mp it's the lens/flash, maybe sensor. i have a nokia n82 and the carl zeiss lens and xenon flash is superb......have tried manipulating all the settings for still and video pics and the omnia is high tech but the cam is just sad.........

internet surfing is not as user friendly as the iphone3gs......u should try the zoom in and out function with touch n a weird +/- selector that appears......so hard to use!!

the phone's fast, faster than the arena IMO, but transitions/selections when sms-ing lags....

oh and the phone is so slippery....need to get some sort of silicon skin or something.

overall i think this is one fab phone....luv the screen most......hate the cam.....

Hi guys....i've got the original i900 omnia and one of the most important functions for me is the mouse, coz i just can't stand using that dongle stylus...of course the mouse works great with the omnia's mini-touchpad, which i thoroughly enjoy using.....will the omnia II have the mouse and a mini-touchpad function?

I want to buy Omnia II with OS 6.5 right out of the box because I think OS 6.1 has many missing features such as Voice Command, Mega Pixel display. I don't believe that the promised upgrade will bring
about the same level of functionalities of the said missing features.
