> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-08-03 11:37 from wgjryeh i had the same exact same problem
but i somehow fixed it by doing this:
1.the people who i usually keep in touch i added them to my favourite contacts (only 4 people who have called me showing there number only and not there name which kinda made me abit disappointed)
2. so i then added a "nickname" to there details
(note: the star next to there name when in "contacts")
but i dont know if it work
3. coz straight after i took them off my favourite contacts and just got rid of the whole "favourite contact" widgets and just kept them as a normal contact
4. after that there names and numbers just showed up
i still dont know how or what i did to fix it
but thats just how i fluked it i guess

Every phone has their own capability and weakness..
recently im using N97 that i just bought last 2days..
its very great phone, i spend almost 2300 ringgit Malaysia
for this N97..I think Nokia N97 is the best phone perform in
Market, Large screen, large space, large application, large identity, large design and large creativity. That is my opinion of course..
If u dont like the N97 that;s mean its not suitable for u
or its not your taste. Same like girl though~
well its Nokia N series we are talking about.
Anyway N97 rules..worth it! ^^

I was gifted for my bday by my bro
I used it for 5 days & sent it back to my bro
went bck to my old work horse E50
Price is Ridiculous Rs.35,000 India
Screen Display - No remarkable diff between E50 & N97
Touch Screen is lousy
Accelerator is lousy
No editing of Quick Office - Nokia It is a shame - u r ripping others
Hangs a lot
If Screen gaurd is used - unlocking is a problem
Application in Ovi Store - don't function properly Like Compass/ Step Count
Good for people who have Desk job not fr guys like me on the field as we have to dial as we go & the keypad is horrible (Both touch screen and Physical)
My advice - Ignore it

nice test...but nokia make me sad...
If they continue in the same way, like this with the n86 and this phone. They wil simple end up like siemens.
People dont find their models attractive anymore caus the UI and technology isnt catching up.
If you got much more to the same amount of money with a samsung, lg or any phone, will people just quit bying nokia...and it is hard to get off with a rumor!
Come on nokia, show us something worthy buying!

Another waste of peoples time and money...
Already updates available to fix bugs...have had 3 of these returned due to faults with screen, keypad and software...
Why do Nokia keep feeding us this stuff?

I regret buying this phone, use it for 3 weeks already, cost me about Malaysian 2,200 or USD600+? picture quality of N97 is bad compare to my bro's omnia i900,it is too bulky due to its qwerty kboard,if i have a lot of pictures in the gallery it will really slows the picture browsing,i'm going to trade this phone soon,no more Nokia for me,really really regret this.

I'm thinking of buying this phone but wanted an opinion of someone who has actually used one.
I need it for calling, sms, mms, internet usage (eg email, facebook etc) and to be able to take a decent photo. Also playing games and being able to add your own ringtones are also an added advantage.
If I use my phone for these sort of things is this a good phone for me and is the battery life pretty good?

jealous nokia n97 haters
majority of the people prefer basic UI
parents and older people cbf playing around with it and want something nice and simple.
in my opinion they probably designed it to target matured people/parents to have a fancy phone but deliver the basic requirements they need to enjoy it better or to keep up with technology..hence why it may have been priced high atm, for the "on-the-go" workers
thats my 2cents, though i would prefer the samsung Omnia i8910 HD, itll be awhile before it comes out so id buy this till i8910 comes out

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-07-08 15:28 from tVmmNokia does it again, its all smoke and mirrors effort from Nokia with the n97.
The last really good and possibly great Nokia handset for me was the Nokia 6110 from 1998. A true handset that did what it was meant to do.
Sadly since then every Nokia that has been out there in the market place lives off the Nokia name only.
In terms of the n series, the n95 and n95 8GB were great handsets by Nokia, this new n97 fails in several areas, most notably the firmware errors, lets see, Nokia has this handset in pre-prodoction for what 6 months now and still could not iron out 99% of the bugs?
Really why anyone continues to buy Nokia is beyond understanding, failure after failure ...
Buy Samsung or LG and be better off, as for Apple, only if you have been brain washed into thinking apples are good for your health :-)
Ask Steve Jobs for an answer to that ...
